New Delhi, March 11 After the last Lok Sabha election, the Election Commission’s voter list has added 8.4 million new voters in the last five years. The voter who reaches the 18 years age is 1.5 crores new voters. These voters will be able to vote for the first time in the general election, which begins next month.
While announcing the election dates for this Lok Sabha election the election commission has released the data of in which it said the voter number is now 90 crores. In the last election of 2014, this number was 81.6 crores.
The election commission has added the third gender, transgender voter number is 38325. The election commission has made 10.35 lakhs voting centre for 543 seats, in the last election this number was 9.28 lakhs. 39.6 lakhs EVM machine and 17.4 lakhs VVPAT machines will be used in this election.
The election commission has achieved the photo identity card in 23 states. The election commission has released the identity card to these voters. For the blind, voter identity card of Braille script was issued.
The election starts from 11 April to 19 May in seven phases. The counting will start on 23 May.
