AILET 2027 Eligibility (UG – BA LL.B. Hons.)
All candidates, other than those applying under the Foreign Nationals category, should appear for the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) and selection shall be solely on that basis. The Foreign National and OCI/PIO candidates are also required to apply online on the same portal.
Candidates must have passed the Higher Secondary School Examination (10+2) system or an equivalent examination with:
- 45% marks for General category
- 42% marks for OBC category
- 40% marks for SC/ST/PwD category
The eligibility condition for admission under the Foreign Nationals Category is 65% marks in the Higher Secondary School Examination (10+2) or equivalent examination.
Candidates appearing or awaiting results of the qualifying examination can also apply and appear in the Entrance Test. However, eligibility must be obtained by the cut-off date notified by the university.
Foreign Nationals Category
The admission of foreign nationals shall be made based on satisfying the prescribed academic qualifications. Candidates who possess citizenship of a country other than India and hold a valid passport shall be eligible to apply under this category. They are exempted from taking the admission test.
The other regulations regarding eligibility for admission will be the same as applicable to other candidates.
OCI / PIO Category
Candidates belonging to the Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) / Person of Indian Origin (PIO) category may apply under both:
- OCI/PIO Category
- Indian National Category
They must submit two separate application forms.
If OCI/PIO candidates apply under the Indian National category, they must appear in the AILET examination along with Indian students.
The merit of the Foreign National and OCI/PIO category will be drawn on the basis of percentage marks in the qualifying examination.
Unfilled seats under Foreign National and OCI/PIO categories will be transferred to the General category and filled through AILET merit.
Definitions
Foreign Nationals: Candidates holding citizenship of a country other than India and possessing a valid foreign passport.
OCI/PIO: As notified by the Government of India.
Eligibility for Admission – One-Year LL.M. Programme
All candidates, except Foreign Nationals, must appear for AILET.
