Assistant Loco pilot exam more than 22.5 lakh candidates applied
Assistant loco pilot exam began on November 26, the railway received more than 22 lakh application for this post from 346 centres across the country. As you are aware there are 18,799 vacancies to be filled by the railway.
Around 60 percent candidates have appeared for this exam. This number is 13.5 lakh and in the next few day 9 lakh applicants will appear for this exam. It is going to be a daunting task for the Indian Railway for screening this much application and their result.

Minimum Qualifying Marks and Marking Scheme
- The minimum qualifying marks for part B are 35% for all candidates irrespective of the category.
- 1/3rd of the marks allotted for each question shall be deducted for each wrong answer.
- There will be sectional timing in the RRB ALP CBT – II examination.
The Railway Recruitment Board has re-opened the application window from October 02, 2024. Candidates could apply for this application till October 28, 2024. The Correction window will open from October 17 to 21, 2024.

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) holds the examinations for recruitment for various posts in the Indian Railways. The board has set up a control centre in Rail Bhawan here to monitor all centres through CCTV cameras.
“Railway has done the preparation and more than dozens officials have been given the task to keep a regular watch on the conduct of examinations,” the officer said. He also said that for the first time, an annual recruitment calendar was announced in February and examinations were being conducted as per the schedule.
The Railway Recruitment Board releases notification for the recruitment of assistant loco pilots between January and March every year, while April, May and June are earmarked for recruitment to technical posts.
