GATE COAP 2026 counselling registrations have started, and Round 1 will begin on May 11, 2026. GATE 2026 scorecard is now available for download. Candidates can access it from March 27 to May 31, 2026, for free. After May 31, 2026, scorecards can still be downloaded until December 31, 2026, with a payment of INR 500. GATE 2026 Result Download Link is activated at gate2026.iitg.ac.in on March 19, 2026. Students can download the results using their login credentials, like enrolment ID and password, ready to download the results. The result for this exam will be considered valid for three years from the date of the result declaration. Qualified candidates will be eligible to participate in the counselling process through COAP and CCMT. The final GATE 2026 Answer Key PDF has been released by the authorities at the GOAPS portal on March 16, 2026.

GATE 2026 was conducted successfully on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026 by IIT Guwahati in online mode. The CE paper was of moderate difficulty with a mix of theory and numerical questions, EE was tough with lengthy calculations, making accuracy crucial, while ME was moderate with a balanced distribution of NAT and MCQs. Students reported that time management and NAT question accuracy were key factors affecting overall performance.
GATE 2026 Latest Updates
- For the year 2026, IIT Guwahati introduced two paper combinations and a new subject.
- Students can now choose a primary paper and a secondary subject; however, they must follow the officially approved pairings. Some of the combinations include Aerospace Engineering with CE, ME, or XE, or Computer Science, which can be paired with DA, EC, GE, MA, PH, and ST.
- Other than this, the authority has added a new subject named Energy Science (XE-I) under Engineering Sciences.
