IAF Group Y Medical Assistant Mandatory Medical & Physical Standards

The exam date is out the candidates must be physically fit if one is entering in the Armed Forces. There are standard the candidates must meet before finally appearing the written test.

General Health & Fitness

  • Normal anatomy (no deformities/loss of limbs).
  • Free from medical/surgical disabilities, infections, skin issues, or communicable diseases.
  • Physically/mentally fit for global duty in any climate/terrain.
  • Gender: No predominant opposite gender traits or reassignment surgery.

Height & Vision (Medical Assistant/Pharmacist)

  • Min. height specified per role (check portal).
  • Bring latest prescription (<1 month old) + spectacles if needed (with ophthalmologist details).
  • No LASIK/PRK history.

Other Key Policies

  • NDPS/Alcohol: Zero tolerance; reject criteria (disciplinary action post-enrollment).
  • Tattoos: Not allowed except inner forearms, back of hands/palms, or tribal customs. No offensive/obscene. Submit 2 postcard photos if applicable.
  • Sikhs: Allowed hair/beard/moustache per religious specs (use such photos).
  • Ex-Service: Eligible if no adverse entries + Discharge Certificate/NOC (disclose upfront; IAF dischargees/debarred candidates ineligible).

Note: Broad guidelines only—Medical Board decides. Hide prior employment = cancellation/dismissal.

IAF Group Y Medical Assistant PFT

Physical Fitness Test (PFT). Names of the shortlisted candidates, who qualify the online test, shall be displayed on the CASB Web Portal https://iafrecruitment.edcil.co.in and on a stipulated date shall be called at designated ASC for Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and Adaptability Test I & II. PFT consist of two parts i.e. PFT-I & PFT-II.

IAF Physical Fitness Test (PFT): 1.6 Km Run Standards

This is part of the mandatory Physical Test for IAF Airmen selection (e.g., Medical Assistant/Pharmacist trades).

PFT II

Continuation of Phase-II PFT standards for IAF Airmen (e.g., Medical Assistant/Pharmacist). Conducted sequentially after 1.6 km run.

  • Appeal Medical Board (AMB): ₹40 fee (e-MRO/MRO); apply within 3 days with docs.
  • Specialists decide Fit/Unfit—no further review.
  • Prep: Remove dental tartar/stains; clean ears. Stay 4-5 days (self-funded, no TA/DA).

Passing medical ≠ job guarantee. No center/date changes.
