The prestigious university of India, Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has introduced the Dr. S.R. Ranganathan Internship programme in their libraries. This program is named after Dr. S.R. Ranganathan, a pioneer in Library Science and a former Librarian of Sayaji Rao Gaekwad Library. The internship programme offers 20 positions, it’s only for one year, But with the possibility of extending for another year based on work performance. Interns will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 20,000.

Eligibility: We invite dynamic, tech-sawy, highly motivated, and committed postgraduates in Library and Information Science from among top 100 NIRF ranked Institutions or Institutions of National Importance.
Essential Qualifications :
1. Postgraduate degree in Library and Information Science from a recognized top 100 NIRF ranked Institutions or.Institutions of National Importance within two years prior to the last date of application.
2. Minimum 50% marks in high school, l2th class and undergraduate degree and 55% in the postgraduate degree.
Age Limit: Maximum 26 years as on the last date of application. Relaxation for OBC, SC, ST, and PwBD candidates will be applicable as per university norms.
Selection Process :
The selection process may involve a written test and/or interview. The university reserves the right to shortlist candidates for the selection process.
No TA/DA will be provided for appearing in the written test or interview.
The date of the written test/interview will be communicated to shortlisted candidates via email and published on the university website.
This programmed aims to provide hands-on experience in library management and operations. Interns will have the good opportunity to work closely with experienced librarians, learn about various aspects of library science, and contribute to the development of the university’s library services.
