Educational Qualification

UCEED 2027 Eligibility Criteria – Qualifying Examination (Criterion 3)

(i) A candidate should have appeared for the Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2026 or 2027 to be eligible for attempting UCEED 2027. Students from all streams—Science, Commerce, and Arts & Humanities—are eligible to apply, subject to the admission requirements of the participating institutes.

(ii) Candidates who appeared for the first time in their Class XII (or equivalent) examination in 2025 or earlier are not eligible to appear for UCEED 2027.

Important Note

By “appearance in the Class XII (or equivalent) examination,” it means that the concerned examination board has declared the results for that academic year, irrespective of whether the examination was conducted in the usual manner. A candidate will be considered to have appeared even if their result was withheld for any reason.

However, if the examination board declared the 2025–26 academic year results on or after September 30, 2025, candidates who first appeared for their Class XII examination in 2025 will also be eligible to appear for UCEED 2027, provided they satisfy all the other eligibility criteria.

On the other hand, if the examination board declared the 2025–26 results before September 30, 2025, but the result of a particular candidate was withheld for any reason, that candidate will not be eligible to appear for UCEED 2027.

Number of Attempts

A candidate can appear for UCEED for a maximum of two attempts allowed by IIT Bombay under the current admission rules.
