NID DAT Main exam 2026 is the second stage of the National Institute of Design Admission Test for B.Des and M.Des programs. The focus is on problem-solving, model-making, and design thinking, with results announced on the official NID admissions portal.
Exam Schedule
For B.Des, DAT Mains (studio test and interview) is scheduled in late April to early May 2026; M.Des mains tentatively March to early April 2026. Admit cards release ~10 days prior via admissions.nid.edu.
Format and Selection
Shortlisted from DAT Prelims (December 21, 2025), mains include subjective studio sensitivity tests and personal interviews assessing creativity, aptitude, and design skills. Results expected May 2026, followed by seat allotment

Any valid photo indentity such as Aadhar Card,Voter ID,DL,Pan Card or Passport
Birth certificate or school leaving certificate bearing the DOB
Class 10 Mark Sheet
Class 12 Mark Sheet
Gen-EWS/OBC-NCL/ST/SC certificate if applicable
Disability certificate and/or UDID card if applicable
Valid Passport and OCI/PIO card if applicable, if applied under supernumerary category
Certificatre of identity issued by DM or equivalent authority under the transgendere person (Protection of rights) act 2019 and/or identity card issued community from the website transgender.dosje.gov.in if applied under Third gender for availing relaxation in application fees
