RRB(railway recruitment board) will conduct the internal promotion examination through a centralised computer based test as confirmed by officials.

Why this move by railway?

The development took place when CBI has arrested 26 railway officials of the East Central Railway in UP Mughal Sarai for leaking the papers of departmental exam and seized  more than one crore cash during the raid.

These internal promotion exam is held by railway division and zones internally and railway reported the unfair means and corruption during these exams.

A high level meeting was held by the Railway board and decision came after this that all the departmental promotion will be held by RRB or some centralized examination through CBT mode as expressed in the press meet of Railway Ministry.

A calendar of these exam will be prepared and exam will take place according to the calendar prepared

RRB has been holding various exam smoothly in the past and so Minstry handed over this exam too. The figure says it for RRB as 7.7 crores candidates appeared in various exam conducted by RRB with no trace of paper leak,impersonation or remote log in and use of any spy devices Ministry puts

This has been possible with the selection of exam conducting agencies through open tender with a criteria of Quality and Cost Based Selection among various other conditions.

RRB Precautionary measure taken during the exam

RRB takes precautionary measure before conducting the exam as the railway team conducts the auditing of examination centre, a one hundred percent cctv coverage and recording is done two hours before the exam and one hour post exam among other things.

“Venue/centre of examination is made available only four days before the exam. The exam centre is allotted through a computerised randomised generation avoiding manual intervention.

“In the examination centres, checking & frisking of candidates is done with hand-held metal detectors,” the Ministry said, detailing several other steps taken to ensure fairness in holding the examinations.
