Selection Process
Selection process for JRF/SRF: (i) For GATE/NET and other Government Exams Qualified Candidates:
Through Walk-in Personal Interview for candidates qualified for GATE/NET or those who have qualified in any National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments/Agencies.
For Non-GATE/NET Qualified Candidates: Candidates without GATE/NET qualifications will be selected on a merit basis through a Competitive Written Examination to be conducted by ARCI, followed by a Personal Interview.

Selection of JRFs/SRFs through ARCI Conducted Fellowship Examination
- Candidates with a course degree/likely to complete their B.E./B.Tech./M.Sc. OR M.E./ M.Tech. or equivalent by July/August 2025 and not having GATE/ NET, etc., are eligible to apply for JRF/SRF under this category. The selection process for this category will be based on merit through a Competitive Written Examination (CWE) conducted by ARCI.
- Screening/shortlisting for Competitive Written Examination will be done by a committee based on the marks secured in degree, discipline/qualifications-wise, academic records, experience, and assessment of research work (if any) already carried out and published by the candidates.
- On the basis of the CWE score, selection will happen on a merit basis for a personal interview. In case if large no. of candidates qualify the CWE, on the basis of ARCI’s cut-off marks, the personal interview will happen in a 1:10 ratio.
