Skill Test for Stenographers
The recruitment authority will conduct the selection process for Stenographer Grade I (Senior Stenographer) and Stenographer Grade II (Junior Stenographer) through an online Computer-Based Test (CBT) followed by a Skill Test. First, the authority will prepare the merit list based on the highest scores obtained in the CBT, arranging candidates in descending order. Then, it will shortlist candidates in a ratio of 1:10 for each vacancy, and if multiple candidates secure the same marks as the last shortlisted candidate, it will include them as well. Moreover, the same shortlisting ratio will apply to reserved category vacancies.

Skill Test Criteria
The authority will inform shortlisted candidates separately about the date, time, and venue of the Skill Test. In this test, each candidate will receive a 10-minute dictation in either English or Hindi, as per their choice. Candidates applying for Stenographer Grade I must demonstrate a typing speed of 120 words per minute, while those applying for Stenographer Grade II must achieve a speed of 100 words per minute. After the dictation, candidates must transcribe the passage on a computer within the prescribed transcription time.
Selection Process for Stenographer Posts
The Authority will conduct the selection process for stenographer Grade I and Grade II through an online computer based test followed by a skill test. First, it will prepare the merit list based on the highest scores obtained in the CBT, arranging candidates in descending order. Then, it will shortlist candidates in the ration of 1:10 for each vacancy. Moreover, if candidates secure marks equal to the Last Shortlisted Candidates, the authority will also Include them in the list. The Same shortlisting ration will apply to reserved Category vacancies as well.
Next, the authority will notify shortlisted candidates separately about the date, time, and venue of the Skill Test. During this test, each candidate will receive a 10-minute dictation in English or Hindi, as per their choice. Candidates for Stenographer Grade I must achieve a speed of 120 words per minute, while candidates for Stenographer Grade II must achieve 100 words per minute. Finally, all candidates must transcribe the dictated passage on a computer within the prescribed transcription time
Selection Procedure for Upper Division Clerk
The authority will conduct the selection for the post of Upper Division Clerk (UDC) through an online Computer-Based Test (CBT) consisting of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). However, candidates who are selected and appointed must either possess or acquire basic computer knowledge, including typing skills.
Similarly, the selection for the post of Lower Division Clerk (LDC) will take place through an online CBT with MCQs, followed by a Typing Test. After the CBT, the authority will prepare a merit list in descending order of marks and will shortlist candidates in a ratio of 1:10 for each vacancy. Moreover, if candidates secure the same marks as the last shortlisted candidate, the authority will also include them in the list. The same shortlisting ratio will apply to reserved category vacancies as well. Finally, the authority will notify shortlisted candidates separately about the date, venue, and schedule of the skill test.
Skill (Typing) Test for Lower Division Clerk
For the Typing Test, candidates must qualify by typing the required words per minute in Hindi or English on a computer. The time allowed is 10 minutes, while Visually Handicapped (VH) candidates with 40% disability or above will receive 30 minutes of compensatory time.
Moreover, candidates can choose either Hindi or English as the medium for the Skill Test. A speed of 35 words per minute and 30 words per minute corresponds to 10,500 key depressions per hour and 9,000 key depressions per hour respectively, based on an average of 5 key depressions per word.
The Typing Test will be qualifying in nature, and the performance in this test will not be counted towards the preparation of the final merit list.
Translation skill test – Translator (Hindi Assistant)
The Part I and Part II examinations will be conducted online through a CBT consisting of multiple-choice objective questions. Each question will have four options, out of which only one will be correct. Similar to the pattern followed for other posts.
In contrast, Part III will be a conventional descriptive examination. During this test, candidates will receive a single answer booklet with sufficient pages for both translations. After completion, the authority will collect the booklets from candidates and then scan and upload them for evaluation. Instead of traditional manual checking, subject matter experts will digitally evaluate the responses and award marks online using computers. Furthermore, the authority will store the collected booklets in centralized test locations, ensuring they are properly packed and sealed for security.
Total Selection Process
The Selection for All Group A Posts will be though online CBT (Computer Based Test) followed by an Interview. The CBT will comprise 70 marks and Interview will comprise 30 Marks. In Case of all other Group B and Group C posts, the selection will be based on ly on the basis of performance in online CBT Comprising 100 marks.
