IIM Bodh Gaya and Bihar government Fellowship Scheme 2025
The application form is open for the Bihar Government fellowship scheme 2025 for the resident of Bihar. This scheme is being run with IIM Bodh Gaya. Candidates will be selected through interview. First they will apply for the scheme and their application form will scrutinized. The first phase application deadline is tomorrow 17 December 2025

The applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

Applicants must be a domicile of Bihar.
Bihar Chief Minister Fellowship exemption criteria
Age limit:
The maximum age limit is 45 years as of the application deadline
Applicant must hold a Post Graduate degree from a reputed institution in Management, Policy, Development, Regional Planning, Public Administration, Science and Technology, and allied fields* with a minimum of 55% marks.
How to Apply: Applications must be submitted through the online application portal linked with the IIM Bodh Gaya.

The CMFS offers a unique blend of academic rigor and real-world governance experience:
The program features 40 days of campus immersion, starting with an initial three-week training at IIM Bodh Gaya, followed by two years of hands-on governance experience.

CMFS 2025 stipend IIM Bodh Gaya
The Bihar government provides each enrolled fellow with a fixed monthly honorarium of ₹80,000 to ₹1,50,000, scaled according to the level of their attachment office and prior experience.
Program Completion Benefits
Upon successful completion of the two-year fellowship, fellows receive:
- A Post Graduate Certificate in Public Policy and Good Governance awarded by IIM Bodh Gaya.
- A Work Experience letter issued by the General Administration Department, Government of Bihar.

Requirement
Candidates must submit a valid scorecard from one of the following entrance tests: CAT, GMAT, GRE, GATE, UGC-NET, or CSIR-NET.
Test Score Exemption Criteria
Candidates holding a Master’s degree from any of the following institutions are exempt from submitting CAT/GMAT/GRE/GATE/UGC-NET/CSIR-NET scores:
- Institutions of National Importance (INI)
- Central Universities
- National Law Universities (NLU)
Exempted fields include Management, Policy, Development, Public Administration, Regional Planning, Science and Technology, and allied disciplines.
The minimum required work experience varies according to the requirements of the government offices:
- 3+ years for District, Divisional, and Municipal Corporation.
- 6+ years for Secretariat Department.
- 8+ years for Chief Secretary and Development Commissioner Office.
- 10+ years for Hon’ble CM and Dy. CM Office.
Reservation Policy:
Reservation is applicable as per the Bihar State Reservation Policy.
Selection Process:
The admission to the program includes the following processes:
- Submitting applications for the program (Online). Candidates will submit the application form online and their application form will be scrutinized
- Shortlisting the applications. The shortlisted candidate will get a call for interview
- Conducting interviews. The dates are available
- Releasing admission offers.
The result will be out in February 2026
The two-year fellowship is structured into following phases:
Bihar CMFS Process after Selection
This phase screens applications based on basic eligibility criteria, followed by a personal interview with a panel of IIM Bodh Gaya faculty.
Initial Training (3 Weeks)
All selected fellows undergo structured induction training at the IIM Bodh Gaya campus, covering public policy, governance systems, Bihar-specific challenges, and administrative functioning.
Attachment and Work (2 Years)
Fellows report to assigned government offices to execute their roles, supported by continuous remote mentorship and quarterly in-person review meetings from IIM Bodh Gaya.
Program Completion
Fellows submit a detailed work report at the end, followed by a joint appraisal, awarding the Post Graduate Certificate in Public Policy and Good Governance from IIM Bodh Gaya and a Work Experience letter from Bihar’s General Administration Department.
