This Act replaces the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), 2005,

It is boosting the statutory wage employment guarantee to 125 days per financial year for rural households and promoting empowerment, inclusive growth, initiative convergence, and saturation-based delivery for a prosperous Rural Bharat.

Parliament’s passage of the Bill establishes a modern framework aligned with Viksit Bharat @2047.

It will shift rural employment from welfare to integrated development.

  • Timely Payments: Wages paid weekly or within 15 days, with delay compensation (Section 5(3) and Schedule II).
