NCHM JEE 2026 Counselling Floating Option

Those who are allotted a seat in the first round, have accepted the seat by following the formalities mentioned, and are interested in upgrading their choice of institute in subsequent rounds should opt for the “floating” option and not the “freeze” option. Candidates who opt for the “freeze” option for the allotted seat in the First round will not be able to participate in subsequent rounds

Candidates opting for the “floating” option after completing formalities can revise their institute choices in subsequent rounds. If allotted a seat in the first round (not their top choice) and they float without revising choices, the next allotment considers only prior choices based on availability.

Upgraded allotments don’t require re-paying the SAF or re-verifying documents—just download the new allotment letter. Upgrading forfeits the previous seat claim automatically.

Candidates who paid the SAF in the first round but skipped document verification will have their seat cancelled. They can join subsequent rounds (with the SAF adjusted) or request a refund if they choose not to participate.

NCHM JEE 2026 Counselling Seat Cancellation for Ineligibility

If a candidate allotted a seat fails to meet eligibility criteria (e.g., educational qualifications or age), the seat cancels automatically. Any deposited Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF) refunds fully.

Provisional Admission for 12th Certificate

Candidates allotted in the first round without a 12th Pass Certificate can get provisional admission if they provide proof of appearing in a recognized board exam. They must submit a written undertaking to deliver the original certificate to the institute by September 30 of the admission year. Failure to submit (or if placed in compartment) cancels the seat with no SAF refund.

Provisional Category Certificate

First-round allottees without an original category certificate qualify provisionally with supporting evidence. A written undertaking commits to submitting the original to the institute by September 30. Missing the deadline cancels the seat with no SAF refund.

Invalid Category During Verification

If document verification reveals a candidate doesn’t belong to their claimed category, it converts to General. The seat cancels, and they can only participate in subsequent rounds as General category.

First-Round Withdrawal

Candidates confirming a first-round seat but withdrawing online within the deadline cancel both the seat and registration. They can’t join rounds 2 or 3 (except the final round), but deposited SAF adjusts if they participate later.

No Allotment in Round

Unallotted candidates carry forward their registration fee and remain eligible for subsequent rounds.

Unlocked/Frozen Seats (m)

Failing to lock or freeze a seat defaults to “floating” for upgrades in later rounds (subject to availability). Upgrading forfeits the prior seat claim automatically.

Second Round

Candidates who have not registered or participated in earlier rounds of counselling can register by depositing the registration fee of Rs. 2,000 through the portal and participate in the second round of counselling for the available vacant seats.

(b) Seat allotment in the second round will be conducted under the same conditions as those mentioned for the first round of counselling.

(c) A candidate with a better rank (AIR of NCHM JEE) who did not participate in the first round of counselling will not have the right to claim a seat allotted to a lower-ranked candidate who participated and secured the seat on merit in the first round of counselling. (d) Before filling in their choices during the second round, candidates are advised to check the vacancy 6 status of seats in the institutes after the first-round allotments on the portal.

Floating Option After First-Round Allotment

Candidates who accept their first-round seat with the “floating” option can participate in the second round for upgrades or choice changes without re-verifying documents. They must download the new allotment letter for records. Upgrading automatically forfeits the previous seat claim.

No Allotment in Round

Candidates without a seat allotment can join the third (final) round, with their registration fee carried forward.

Unlocked/Frozen Seats

Seats not locked or frozen default to “floating” for upgrades in subsequent rounds (subject to availability). Upgrading forfeits the prior seat claim permanently.

Seat Withdrawal Rules

First- or second-round allottees can withdraw/surrender seats only via the online counselling portal before final-round registration begins. Manual, postal, or email withdrawals won’t be accepted. Missing the deadline forfeits the Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF).

NCHM JEE 2026 Counselling Final Round

The third round is the final counselling round—no further allotments occur afterward.

Prior Participants Seeking Upgrade (b)

Candidates who finalized seats in earlier rounds can participate in the final round for vacant seats. No allotment retains their prior seat. Upgrading forfeits the previous seat claim automatically.

New Registrants in Final Round (c)

Candidates skipping first/second rounds can register (₹2,000 fee) but must also pay the ₹20,000 SAF to access choice filling, as withdrawals aren’t allowed. Allotment follows prior rounds’ process otherwise.

No Withdrawals or Refunds (d)

Seats allotted in or after this round student cannot withdraw or surrender and no refunds apply.
