BITSDAT 2026 Exam Dates Fees 100% Scholarship

The application form is open for the academic year 2026. Candidates can register online to appear for the interview. The candidates who register first will get a chance to appear for interview. The NID and UCEED exams are taking place in January 2026.

BITS Des Test- The BITs will conduct the design aptitude test for the candidates who did not appear in the National exam such as NID DAT, UCEED. It is a one hour online test

Eligibility to apply

1. 1. 10+2 or equivalent in any stream from any recognised board of education with minimum 45% (appearing or passed)
2. 2. Applicants should either have taken or be registered for at least one of these tests:
   1. a. National Institute of Design – Design Aptitude Test (NID‑DAT)  Prelims
   2. b. IIT Bombay Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED)
   3. c. BITS Design Aptitude Test (BITSDAT)

BITSDAT 2026 is the BITS Design Aptitude Test for B.Des (Hons) admissions at BITS Design School, Mumbai, targeting aspirants in Physical Product Design, Digital Product Design (UI/UX), and related fields.​

Eligibility Criteria

Class 12 pass with minimum 45% aggregate; accepts BITSDAT scores or alternatives like NID-DAT Prelims/UCEED 2026.​

Exam Pattern

1-hour online CBT assessing design concept aptitude, logical/non-verbal reasoning, and English skills; followed by portfolio upload and online interview for shortlisted candidates.​

BITSDES 2026 Schedule

Applications open (ongoing) till February 1, 2026; exam March 31-April 5, 2026; shortlist April 16; interviews May 2-12; final results May 18. Apply at bitsdesign.edu.in

Scholarship

BITS Design School offers scholarships for B.Des (Hons) students, including Merit & Means-Based, Academic Merit, and Chancellor’s Scholarship, with waivers up to 100% on tuition fees renewable annually.

Merit & Means-Based Scholarship

Eligible for Indian students with family income below ₹18 lakhs annually. Holistic assessment via application, design test, academics, achievements, and portfolio interview. Provides up to 75% tuition waiver yearly, subject to renewal policy.

Academic Merit Scholarship

Automatically considered for all admitted students showing design passion and excellence. Evaluated on design test, academics, co-curriculars, and interview. Offers up to 75% tuition waiver each year, based on performance.

Chancellor’s Scholarship

Prestigious 100% tuition waiver for top performers identified by jury. Includes perks like Chancellor meeting, international exposure (e.g., Aalto/Stanford), internship, and special designation. Available throughout 4 years if renewed.

Eligibility & Notes

Must be Indian citizen, Class 10/12 passed, admitted to B.Des. Scholarships mutually exclusive—highest waiver applies. Reviewed yearly on academics, conduct, attendance; per BITSDES policy. Admissions Committee decides final awards.
