NEE-I Age Limits
Maximum age as of July 31, 2026: 19 years for Unreserved (UR) (born on/after August 1, 2007), 22 years for OBC/females (born on/after August 1, 2004), and 24 years for ST/SC/PD (born on/after August 1, 2002).
NEE-I (Certificate Module)
- Completion of Class X (10th standard).
- Admission via NERIST Entrance Examination (NEE-I).
- Leads to 2-year Certificate Module (4 semesters).
- Vertical mobility to 4-year Degree Module requires minimum CGPA of 6.50/10.0 within course duration.
- If CGPA <6.50, eligible for 3-year Diploma Module (2-year Certificate + 1-year program).
NEE-II (Degree Module)
- Completion of Class XII (12th standard).
- PCM stream (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics): Eligible for B.Tech. courses.
- PCB stream (Physics, Chemistry, Biology): Eligible for B.Sc. (Honours) in Forestry (4 years, 8 semesters).
- Admission via NEE-II (PCM or PCB).
NEE-III (Degree Module – Lateral Entry)
- Passed/appearing in 3-year Diploma from any government-recognized polytechnic/institution in relevant/allied discipline/branch.
- Minimum 60% aggregate marks across all three years, or CGPA of 6.5/10.0.
- For NERIST Diploma Module holders: Minimum CGPA of 6.0/10.0.

NEE-I Exam Format
NEE-I (Paper Code 10) features a single question paper worth 150 marks over three hours, divided into Section-A (Physics), Section-B (Chemistry), and Section-C (Mathematics).

PCM Engineering & Technology (Code 20)
Candidates for Degree Module of Technology Stream (10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or vocational/ITI/NERIST) attempt NEE-II (PCM) E&T. The paper includes Section-A (Physics), Section-B (Chemistry), and Section-C (Mathematics).
PCB Forestry (Code 29)
For 4-year Forestry degree (10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology), candidates take NEE-II (PCB) with Section-A (Physics), Section-B (Chemistry), and Section-C (Biology).
PCM Science (Code 40)
B.Sc. candidates in Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics (10+2 PCM) attempt NEE-II (PCM) Science, covering Section-A (Physics), Section-B (Chemistry), and Section-C (Mathematics).
BBA (Code 50)
For 4-year BBA (10+2 qualified), NEE-II (BBA) features four sections: A (English Proficiency), B (Numerical Ability), C (Logical Reasoning), D (General Knowledge).
PCM-based papers (20, 29, 40) and BBA (50) are single 150-mark, 3-hour exams with relevant sections
NEE-III Exam Format
NEE-III (Paper Codes 30-35) consists of a single 150-mark question paper spanning three hours across four sections, including one relevant branch subject based on the candidate’s qualifying exam.

Diploma holders in relevant branches seeking Degree Module admission in Technology Stream must attempt NEE-III.
Section Breakdown
Sections A (Physics), B (Chemistry), and C (Mathematics) are compulsory for all candidates. Section D features 30 one-mark questions and 20 two-mark questions from the chosen engineering branch syllabus (one of six branches, codes 30-35 per Table-I).
