AP PECET 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility for B.P.Ed (Bachelor of Physical Education) – 2 Years Course (through AP PECET 2026)
- Educational Qualification — Candidates must have passed or appeared in the final year of a 3-year Bachelor’s degree (any stream/discipline) from a recognized university in Andhra Pradesh or any university recognized as equivalent.
- Age Limit — Minimum 19 years as on July 1, 2026. (No upper age limit mentioned.)
- Other Key Points —
- No minimum percentage is in the degree (only passing/appearing is enough).
- You must submit the pass certificate / degree certificate during counselling.
- Must be an Indian citizen and satisfy Andhra Pradesh local/non-local status rules (domicile requirement applies for most seats).
Eligibility for U.G.D.P.Ed / D.P.Ed (Under Graduate Diploma in Physical Education / Diploma in Physical Education) – 2 Years Course

- Educational Qualification — Candidates must have passed or appeared in Intermediate (10+2) or equivalent examination recognized by the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
- Age Limit — Minimum 16 years as on July 1, 2026. (No upper age limit mentioned.)
- Other Key Points —
- You must submit the Intermediate pass certificate during counselling.
- Same domicile / local status rules apply as for B.P.Ed.
In Service Teacher Eligibility
Special Provision for In-Service Physical Education Teachers (P.E.Ts)
In-service Physical Education Teachers (P.E.Ts) who wish to seek admission into the following courses are exempted from appearing for the AP PECET entrance examination:
- B.P.Ed (Bachelor of Physical Education) – 2-year course
- D.P.Ed / U.G.D.P.Ed (Diploma in Physical Education) – 2-year course
Application Procedure for In-Service P.E.Ts:
- They are not required to apply through the AP PECET online portal or appear for the entrance test conducted by the AP PECET Convener.
- Instead, they must apply directly to: The Director of School Education Atmakur, Mangalagiri, Guntur District Andhra Pradesh
- The application should be submitted through proper channel (i.e., forwarded by the concerned school authorities / Mandal Educational Officer / District Educational Officer as per the procedure).
- Candidates must follow the specific notification issued by their respective District Educational Officer (D.E.O.) for the application process, timeline, required documents, and other instructions.
Important Note on Eligibility of Degrees Obtained through Distance Mode:
Graduates who have obtained their degree through distance mode from Deemed to be Universities or Private Universities are not eligible for admission unless the programme has been explicitly approved by:
- the Joint Action Committee of
- University Grants Commission (UGC)
- Distance Education Council (DEC)
- All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE)
(Regular / conventional mode degrees from recognized universities are not affected by this condition.)
This provision applies specifically to in-service P.E.Ts for the 2026 admission cycle (subject to confirmation in the official AP PECET 2026 notification).
Qualifying Marks for Both Courses (AP PECET 2026)
- Must qualify in the AP PECET entrance test (Physical Efficiency Test + Games Skill Test) with at least 30% aggregate marks (150 out of 500) — relaxed for SC/ST categories (no minimum marks required).
- Indian nationality.
- Physical fitness and ability to participate in physical tests is essential.
