BPSC 4.0 Application form, Exam, Eligibility and Qualifying Marks

BPSC TRE 4.0- It does not need to add any year as Tre 4.0 is enough. The application form will open soon.  after the TRE 3.0 process is over refers to the fourth phase of the Bihar Teacher Recruitment Exam by the Bihar Public Service Commission. We have given here all the details regarding the eligibility, tentative number of vacancies, exam pattern and qualifying marks.

Some sources are estimating that the TRE 4.0 will come in January 2026 or some are expecting in the December 2025. We will update you on the official website when it releases officially.

Application Process

The online application process will start online and candidates can also apply online for the same. There is no offline mode it means no hard copy of the application form is to be sent to the BPSC. The official website of TRE 4.0 is https://bpsc.bihar.gov.in/

BPSC TRE 4.0 Admit card

The admit card will be out one week before the exam. But before the admit card BPSC may release the city intimation slip

Answer key

When the exam is completed the BPSC will release the answer key. The provisional answer key will be out after the exam to seek challenges if any in the answer key.

Result

The result is prepared after the answer key challenges are met by the commission. The result will be out in PDF format. The candidates will be able to see their result. The score card of the individual candidates will be out after the result

Document Verification

The document verification is also an important step before joining. Candidate will get a call for document verification. Candidate will carry their original certificate and one set of photocopy of these document at the centre

BPSC 4.0 Eligibility Criteria

Classes 1-5 Eligibility

  • 12th (or equivalent) with ≥50% marks + 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.)/4-year B.El.Ed./2-year D.Ed. (Special Education), OR
  • 12th with ≥45% marks + 2-year D.El.Ed., OR
  • Graduation + 50% marks + 2-year D.El.Ed., OR
  • Master’s degree (≥55% marks) + D.El.Ed.​

Age

18-21 years

Age relaxation will apply here too.

Classes 6-8 Eligibility

  • Graduation in relevant subject(s) with ≥50% marks + 2-year D.El.Ed., OR
  • Graduation + B.Ed./BA Ed/B.Sc Ed (integrated), OR
  • Same as PRT options above (12th-based with higher diplomas).​

Age: 18-37/40 years (category relaxations apply); confirm via official notification

TET/CTET/STET was part of educational qualifications for certain posts (e.g., D.El.Ed./B.Ed. holders needed declared results by application cutoff), but not a separate eligibility filter.

BPSC TRE 3.0 followed a single-stage written exam pattern with 150 objective MCQs for 150 marks, lasting 2 hours 30 minutes (150 minutes), and no negative marking.​

Common Structure (All Posts)

  • Part 1: Language (Qualifying, min 30%): 30 questions (30 marks) – Hindi/English/Urdu/Bengali (choose one regional language).​
  • Part 2: General Studies: 40 questions (40 marks) – covers Math, Science, Social Studies, GK, EVS, Bihar-specific topics from SCERT/NCERT.​
  • Part 3: Concerned Subject: 80 questions (80 marks) – post-specific (e.g., Pedagogy for PRT; subject knowledge for TGT/PGT).​

BPSC TRE 4.0 Qualifying Marks

There will be qualifying marks that a candidate will get in the written exam. The details of the TRE 3.0 qualifying marks has been given below.

BPSC TRE 3.0 required minimum qualifying marks of 40% for General category candidates across all sections, with relaxations for reserved categories.​

Qualifying Percentages

  • General/EWS: 40%
  • OBC/EBC: 36.5%
  • SC/ST/PwD/Women (SC/ST): 32%​

Key Notes

Language section (Part 1) is strictly qualifying at 30% minimum, regardless of category—failure disqualifies candidates. Merit ranks candidates above these thresholds based on total scores from General Studies + Subject sections (no negative marking). Actual cut-offs were higher (e.g., 67+ for PRT General

Breakdown by Category

  • Classes 1-5 (Primary): 1,16,193 candidates appeared out of 1,60,642 applicants.​
  • Classes 6-8 (Middle): 1,59,793 candidates appeared.​
  • Overall attendance rate was approximately 78.7% from 9,69,997 total applications.​

These figures cover the main exam held July 19-22, 2024, after rescheduling due to a paper leak.

How many candidates qualified in TRE 3.0

1-5 (Primary)

  • Total qualified: 21,911 out of 1,16,193 appeared.
  • Breakdown: General (Education Dept.) – 18,641; Urdu – 3,054; Bangla – 44; General (SC/ST Welfare) – 172.​

6-8 (Middle)

  • Total qualified: 16,989 out of 1,59,723 appeared.
  • Breakdown: Maths & Science – 5,560; Social Science – 3,789; Hindi – 2,799; English – 2,873; Sanskrit – 941; Urdu – 1,027.​

Class9-1 0 & 11-12 (Secondary/Senior Secondary)

  • Classes 9-10 (Education Dept.): 171 qualified.

Preparation Tips

Focus on the standard pattern: Language (qualifying, 100 marks) + General Studies (120 marks, 2.5 hours for most posts). Syllabus covers Math, Science, Social Studies, and Bihar-specific GK—no negative marking.

The BPSC TRE 3.0 announced a total of 87,774 vacancies initially, later revised downward to 84,581-84,587 across primary, middle, secondary, and senior secondary teacher posts.​
