The application form will open on February 4 for recruitment of JJA in the Delhi High Court. The selection will be made on the basis of written test, skill test and interview. The whole process of selecting candidate is little long as there are four stages of selection.

What is Delhi High Court JJA?

JJA is a Group ‘B’ post at Level 6 (7th CPC pay matrix) involving clerical and administrative duties like managing court files, drafting/transcribing documents, assisting judges in proceedings, handling correspondence, data entry, and record maintenance. Requires graduation and 35 WPM English typing speed. Selected via CBT, descriptive test, typing test, and interview; 152 vacancies announced recently.

Candidates must hold a graduate degree from a recognized university and demonstrate a typing speed of at least 35 words per minute on a computer. Only applicants possessing these qualifications by the last date for online applications should proceed.

Selection criteria

Stage-I: Qualifying Preliminary Examination (CBT)

This computer-based test features 120 questions worth 120 marks, divided into three sections, with a total duration of 120 minutes. A 25% negative marking applies (0.25 marks deducted per wrong answer).

Candidates meeting these cutoffs advance to the next stage; the test is purely qualifying.

From the successful/qualified candidates in Stage-I (i.e., the Preliminary Examination – CBT, Objective Type), candidates will be shortlisted for Stage-II (Main/Descriptive Examination) in the ratio of 15 times the number of vacancies advertised for each category (GEN/EWS/OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwBD).

In simpler terms: Candidates qualifying Stage-I will be called for Stage-II up to 15 times the total vacancies in each respective category. This ensures a sufficient pool for the next stage while maintaining category-wise reservations.

Mains Exam

Stage-II: Main Descriptive Examination

This English Language test carries 100 marks with a 120-minute duration, structured in two parts to assess writing, grammar, and translation skills.

Qualifying Criteria and Shortlisting

Qualified candidates from Stage-II (up to 6 times the advertised vacancies per category: GEN/EWS/OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwBD) advance to Stage-III: English Typing Test.

Stage-III: English Typing Test (Qualifying Stage)

This stage evaluates typing proficiency through a 10-minute computer-based test requiring a minimum speed of 35 words per minute in English.

Key Rules for the Examination

1. No Rounding Off of Marks There shall be no rounding off of marks at any stage of the examination process.
2. Preparation of Final Merit List / Selection List The final merit list (or select list) will be prepared solely by adding the marks obtained by the candidate in:
   • Stage – II: Main (Descriptive) Examination
   • Stage – IV: Interview

3. Stage – III (English Typing Test) are qualifying in nature only and their marks will not be added to the final merit score.
4. Tie-Breaking Criteria (applied in the order given below) In case of a tie in the final merit marks (Stage – II + Stage – IV), the tie will be resolved by the following methods, one after another: (i) Higher marks in Stage – II (Main Descriptive Examination) (ii) Higher marks in Stage – IV (Interview) (iii) Date of Birth – The candidate who is older in age will be given preference over the younger candidate.

• General / OBC-NCL / EWS Candidates: ₹1,500/- (Rupees One Thousand Five Hundred Only) + applicable transaction charges.
• SC / ST / Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): ₹1,300/- (Rupees One Thousand Three Hundred Only) + applicable transaction charges.

     • If left thumb is unavailable due to any reason, right hand thumb impression may be uploaded instead.
   • Signature:
     • Size: 50 KB to 150 KB
     • Must be your actual scanned signature (writing full name in capital letters will NOT be accepted as signature)
     • Illegible, blurred, or invalid signatures will result in rejection of the application.
