For Assistant Professor posts, selection occurs in two phases: shortlisting via Basic Academic Score, API Score (per UGC Regulations 2018, Appendix II, Table 3A), and a 40-point written objective exam on relevant discipline syllabi (NET for sciences/humanities/social sciences, GATE for engineering/technology, and Pharmacy-specific for that field); followed by interview.
Candidates get seven days post-publication of cumulative Basic Academic Score/API scores to raise objections, and three days after written exam scores.
UP Associate/Professor Selection Process
For Associate Professor and Professor posts, shortlisting uses Basic Academic Score and API Score (per UGC Regulations 2018, Appendix II, Table 2, with research paper weightage limited to NIRF-considered publications), applying a cutoff of at least 50% for proportionate candidate screening; Interview follows
Candidates receive seven days post-publication of scores to submit objections.
Final Selection and Committee
A Consolidated Merit List determines Phase II shortlisting for Assistant Professor (teaching skills assessment + interview, requiring at least 50% or 15 marks total).
The Selection Committee conducts interviews across all posts and submits final results in a sealed envelope to the Vice Chancellor.
API/Research Score Assessment
API/Research Score calculation for Associate Professor and Professor posts requires 50% weightage, based on verifiable evidence like publications, project certificates, PhD awards, and patents (minimum 75 for Associate Professor, 120 for Professor).
