Eligibility of DURAT Dibrugarh PhD Admission 2025
A candidate seeking admission to the course for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) shall have to complete a 1-year/2-semester Master’s degree programme after a 4-year/8-semester Bachelor’s degree programme. Or, a 2-year/4-semester Master’s degree programme after a 3-year Bachelor’s degree programme. Or, qualifications declared equivalent to the Master’s degree by the corresponding statutory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale, wherever the grading system is followed.
A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC, Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS). In general, not more than 50% of the seats in each subject shall be filled by DURAT-qualified candidates, and the remaining 50% by the DURAT-exempted candidates.

However, the concerned DRC will try to accommodate candidates from the DURAT qualified and DURAT exempted candidates judiciously, depending on interview performance, area of specialization/interest of the candidates, area of specialization of the prospective supervisor, etc.4
A candidate with a B.E./B.Tech. A degree with a valid JRF-GATE score may receive consideration for admission to the Ph.D. programme.
How to Apply Online for DURAT Dibrugarh PhD Admission 2025?
The candidate must register in the online application Portal on the website- www.dibru.ac.in by entering Full Name, Password, and a Mobile Number. The candidate will get an OTP on the Mobile Number they need to enter for Activation. (ii) After Activation, the candidates must log in by entering his/ her Mobile Number and password.
Selection Process
The DURAT shall comprise two phases:
- Phase I: Written Test (in a single paper for 100 marks) with 70% weightage.
- Phase II: Viva-Voce to be conducted by the Department/ Centre of Studies concerned with 30% weightage.
Qualifying Marks
The qualifying marks in the DURAT (Phase I: written Test) are 50%. However, Candidates belonging to the reserved categories of SC/ST/ OBC/Persons with Disability (PWD)and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) shall have 5% relaxation in the qualifying marks in the DURAT.
