What is the role of Insurance Medical Officers
They conduct clinical examinations, prescribe treatments, and deliver preventive, curative, and promotive care to insured persons and their families under the ESI scheme. IMOs also supervise staff nurses, pharmacists, and paramedical teams while organizing health camps and awareness programs for workers
ESIC Insurance Medical Officers Eligibility 2026
Candidates whose name appears in the details of candidates in CMSS 2025 on the Pratibha setu portal of UPSC as on closing date of 17 February are eligible to apply
Age
Not exceeding 35 years
Level -10 in the pay matrix Rs.56.100-1.77.500 plus non practicing allowance as admission to analogous post in the central government
Essential Quaification
A recognized MBBS degree qualification included In the first schedule or second schedule or part II of the Third schedule ( other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Councel
Completion of compulsory rotating intership. The candidates who are undergoing internship may also apply provided that they will satisfactorly complete the internship before appointment
