For FTII‑ET 2025‑26, admission to all Film and Television‑wing programmes except MFA in Screen Acting follows a two‑stage selection process with cumulative merit.

Stage‑1: Written Test

• All candidates (for MFA in Cinema programmes and One‑Year PG Certificate TV courses) must appear for the Written Test of FTII‑ET 2025‑26.
• The Written Test consists of two papers:
  • Paper‑I: Objective (MCQ‑type)
  • Paper‑II: Subjective (descriptive/analytical)

Stage‑2: Mixed‑format Assessment

• Only candidates who qualify in Stage‑1 (Written Test) are called for Stage‑2.
• Stage‑2 is a Mixed‑format Assessment that includes:
  • Practical tasks (e.g., scene/shot‑based exercises depending on the specialization)
  • Analytical assessments (script/shot analysis, critical thinking)

1. After Paper‑I (MCQ)

• Paper‑I is evaluated for all candidates.
• Only candidates who qualify Paper‑I have their Paper‑II evaluated.
• Qualification for Paper‑II evaluation:
  • A maximum of 32 × A candidates will be taken for Paper‑II evaluation,
    where A = total number of seats in that programme (including all categories).
  • This 1:32 ratio is applied separately for each category (General, OBC‑NCL, SC, ST, EWS).
  • A candidate must score non‑zero positive marks in Paper‑I to be eligible; zero marks = no Paper‑II evaluation.

For a 16‑seat programme, around up to 512 candidates (16 × 32) can qualify Paper‑II evaluation. For 11‑seat programmes, around up to 352 candidates. [Similar logic is used in many national exams’ shortlisting.]

2. After total Written Test (Paper‑I + Paper‑II) → Stage‑2 eligibility

• Qualification for Stage‑2 (Mixed‑format assessment) is based on total marks of Stage‑1 (Paper‑I + Paper‑II).
• Number of candidates qualifying for Stage‑2:
  • Maximum of 4 × A candidates,
    where A = total number of seats in that programme.
  • This 1:4 ratio is also followed category‑wise (General, OBC‑NCL, SC, ST, EWS).

Mode and location of Stage‑2 for FTII ET 2025

• Stage‑2 is a comprehensive, multi‑method assessment that evaluates your overall suitability for the chosen programme (knowledge, creativity, practical sense, communication, and aptitude).
