Detailed Eligibility Criteria (Advt. No. 01/2026)
HSSC CET 01/2026 eligibility 10+2 CET marks required
1. Educational Qualification
- Passed 10+2 (Intermediate / Class 12) examination from a recognized Board / University in India.
- Hindi / Sanskrit must have been studied as a compulsory / elective subject up to Matric (Class 10) level OR at the higher level (e.g., in 10+2 or graduation).
- Mandatory Requirement: Must have qualified the HSSC CET Group C (conducted earlier for Group C posts) with the minimum qualifying marks:
- General Category: 50% marks in CET.
- Reserved Categories (SC / BC / EWS): 40% marks (relaxation as per rules).
- No specific percentage is required in 10+2 beyond passing the exam, but CET qualification is compulsory for eligibility to apply.
2. HSSC Advt 01/2026 Constable age limit (as on January 1, 2026)
- Minimum Age: 18 years.
- Maximum Age: Originally 25 years, but extended with one-time age relaxation to 28 years (as per the latest public notice on hssc.gov.in).
- Age Relaxation (additional, as per Haryana Govt rules):
- SC / Backward Class (BC-A / BC-B): Up to 5 years (or more if combined with one-time relaxation).
- Ex-Servicemen: As per service rules (usually service period + 3 years).
- Widows / Legal Divorcees / Wives of deceased/disabled personnel: Special relaxation.

3. Physical Measurement Standards (PST – Required at Physical Test Stage)
- Height:
- Male: Minimum 170 cm (relaxable by 2–5 cm for reserved categories as per rules).
- Female: Minimum 158 cm (relaxable similarly).
- Chest (Male only): Unexpanded 83 cm (with minimum 5 cm expansion).
- Candidates must be free from physical deformities and in good mental/physical health.
4. Nationality / Domicile
- Must be a citizen of India.
- Haryana domicile/residency is preferred for claiming reservations and local quotas (proof via certificates may be required during verification).
5. Other Essential Requirements
- Good character and no criminal record (police verification / character certificate needed later).
- Must meet medical fitness standards (conducted after PST/PET).
- Reservation Categories (as per Haryana Govt norms): SC (20%), BC-A/BC-B, EWS (10%), PwD (horizontal), ESM (Ex-Servicemen), etc.
