Exam Pattern and Marking Scheme
The assessment combines external exams (written papers) and internal assessments (projects, practicals). There are no major changes for 2025-26; the format is student-friendly with choices in questions.
- Group I & II: 80% external exam + 20% internal assessment.
- Group III: 50% external + 50% internal (total 100 marks external + 100 internal for most).
Key Patterns by Group:
- Group I: English (Paper 1: Composition, Letter, Unseen Passage; Paper 2: Literature from textbooks). History/Civics/Geography (Short answers + structured questions, including map work). Second Language (Composition, Grammar, Translation).
- Group II: Mathematics (Section A: Short answers; Section B: Long questions with choices). Science (Each paper: Short answers + structured questions). Others follow similar sectional formats with compulsory shorts and choice-based longs.
- Group III: Varies; e.g., Computer Applications (Programming questions); Art (Multiple papers on drawing/composition); Physical Education (Theory on skills/games).
Internal assessments emphasize projects and practical skills. The syllabus incorporates reductions from prior years (e.g., shortened chapters in Maths) to ease workload, with a focus on digital literacy and environmental awareness.
