IIT Delhi PhD and MS Res Admission 2026

The application form will open tomorrow for the PhD and MS (res) admission 2026. Minimum period of registration required for students with M.Tech.or equivalent
qualifications is 2 years whereas those with B. Tech. or equivalent qualifications is 3years.

Eligibility

Qualifying Degree

M.Tech./M.E./M.D./M.Des. or equivalent

Marks- 60 % or 6 CGPA

M.Sc./MBA/M.A./M.B.B.S. or equivalent

Marks-60 % or 6 CGPA

Qualified GATE/JEST/CSIR/UGC NET/ICAR/ICMR/DST Inspire Fellowship

BE/BTech/Four year BS

Marks 70 % or 7 CGPA

Qualified GATE/JEST/CSIR/UGC NET/CEED/ICAR/DST Inspire Fellowship

For reserved category candidates where there is required percentage is 60 percent, their asking percentage would be 55 percent

Where asking percentage is 70%, it is 65% for the reserved category

No National Exams for these candidates

Requirement of qualification in GATE / National Exam is waived for the following categories of
applicants

The candidates who are currently in Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs) pursuing B.
Tech./B.E./ four-year B.S. (in person)/Integrated M. Tech/ Integrated M. Sc. Programmes (or
any other programme of minimum four-year duration, admission to which is on the basis of
JEE), who are in final semester/year and have CGPA of 8.00 orabove (on a 10 point scale). Such
students must obtain a CGPA of 8.00 or above at the time of graduation, and before they
formally register for the Ph.D. programme (80% aggregate marks, if marks are the primary
mode of evaluation);
Graduates of CFTIs (in the programmes marked under (i)) with a final graduation CGPA of
more than 8.00 (80% aggregate marks, if marks are the primary mode of evaluation);

M.A or M.Sc. graduates from IITs with CGPA 8.00 or above.

For Part Time PHD

M.E./M.Tech./M.S.(R)/M.D./M.Des. or equivalent no experience is required

B.E./B.Tech. / four-year B.S. (in person)
/M.Sc./M.A./M.B.A. /MBBS/or equivalent, from CFTIs/Central Universities 1 Year experience
Ph.D. B.E./B.Tech./ four-year B.S. (in person)
/M.Sc./M.A./M.B.A./MBBS or equivalent, and working in IIT Delhi*(Project or Regular) 1 Year

B.E./B.Tech./ four-year B.S. (in person)/M.Sc./M.A./MBA/MBBS or equivalent, from institutions
other thanCFTIs/Central Universities- 2 years experience

MS Res

B.E./B.Tech./ four-year B.S. (in person) /M.Sc. or equivalent, from CFTIs/Central Universities

6 Month Experience
