Eligibility:Â
- Unmarried male engineering graduates (final year students can also apply if they meet all requirements by course start).
- Age Limit:Â 20 to 27 years as on 1 July 2026.
- Pay Scale: ₹56,100–₹1,77,500 as Lieutenant; higher ranks have proportionate pay.
- Application Fees:Â NIL for all categories.
- Training:Â Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun.

Who is not eligible for TGC 143 Scheme?
The candidates who have withdrawn from any IMA, OTA, Naval Academy, Air Force Academy or any Service Training Academy on disciplinary grounds are not eligible to apply. and you are not barred for any other exam. No criminal record.

Age
The age required by the Indian Army is 20-27 years. as on 1 July 2026.
Only candidates born between 2 July 1999 and 1 July 2006 (both dates inclusive) are eligible to apply for this entry.
Age Calculation and Documentation
- Age cut-off date is as of 1 July 2026 for TGC 143.
- The official notification specifies that only the date of birth recorded in the Matriculation/Secondary School Examination Certificate (or its recognised equivalent) at the time of application is considererable for age eligibility.
- Candidate must note that no other documents will be accepted for age proof, and no subsequent requests for change of date of birth will be entertained
Shortlisting of Applications
- Applications are first screened based on eligibility and academic marks (primarily engineering degree performance and relevant branch cut-offs).
- Only shortlisted candidates are called for the next stage—the SSB (Services Selection Board) interview.
SSB Interview
- Shortlisted candidates will get a call from Indian Army through the candidates mail to attend the SSB interview, which evaluates officer-like qualities, intelligence, leadership potential, and suitability for a career in the Indian Army.
- The SSB process includes:
- Psychological tests
- Group testing
- Personal interview
- Conference with assessors
Document Verification & Medical Examination
- Candidates who clear the SSB undergo document verification and must pass a comprehensive medical examination at designated military hospitals to assess physical and medical fitness.
Final Merit List
- The Indian Army will prepare final merit list based on candidates’ SSB performance and medical fitness—no marks allotted for the academic degree beyond shortlisting.
- Candidates will get appointment letters for training at the Indian Military Academy as per vacancies, branch preference, and merit order.

What to carry in the SSB round?
Filled in the application form, a copy of that applicatin form form.
A photocopy of self-attested documents along with original copies
12th class marksheet and certificate or Equivalent certificate/ Diploma marksheet and certificate (Diploma holders). (iv) Engineering Degree/Provisional Degree issued by a recognised university. A Provisional Degree should not be more than six months old at the time of the candidate joining the Academy.
The mark sheet of all the semester exams issued by the college or university
The candidate will also carry the certificate issued by the Controller of Examination/Registrar of the concerned University regarding the formula for conversion of CGPA/ Grades into marks followed by the University.
Candidate will also carry the certificate, issued by the Controller of Exam/Registrar/Dean of the concerned University or Principal of the College regarding cumulative percentage of marks up to 6th semester/3rd year of Engg degree, up to 8th semester/4th year of B. Architecture (B.Arch) and up to 2nd semester/1st year of M.Sc
A Declaration by Appearing Candidates
Appearing candidatres in their final year exam or semester will submit the declaration that he will submit the proof of passing Engg Degree Examination alongwith marksheets of all semesters/years by 01 Jan 2025 to the Directorate General of Recruiting, failing which his candidature will face the cancellation (for final year appearing candidates).
If I want to change my SSB centre later for 143 teachnical services, can i do?
If you have selected the SSB centre it is not possible after that you have to appear at that centre change is not possible
