Indian Coast Guard CAT 2027 registration opens-The Indian Coast Guard Common Admission Test (CGCAT) 2027 will be the entrance exam for recruitment to the post of Assistant Commandant (General Duty and Technical branches-engineering-electronic/electricals in the Indian Coast Guard. While the official notification for the 2027 batch has been released, the process and eligibility are expected to follow the established pattern and have been given here. There are a total of 170 posts, 140 for GD and 30 for Technical positions. The candidates will be selected through an entrance test

Key Details for ICG CGCAT 2027:

  • Eligibility:
  • Age: 21–26 years (with relaxation for SC/ST/OBC and serving personnel) as on 1 July 2026
  • Education:
  • For General Duty: Bachelor’s degree with at least 60% aggregate marks (55% for SC/ST), and Physics & Mathematics as subjects up to 10+2 level.
  • For Technical branches: Engineering degree in specified disciplines, with Physics & Mathematics up to 10+2 or equivalent.
  • Selection Process:
  • Stage I: CGCAT (computer-based test) with 100 multiple-choice questions on English, Reasoning, Numerical Ability, General Science, Mathematics, and General Knowledge.
  • Stage II: Preliminary Selection Board (PSB) – includes further aptitude and perception tests.
  • Stage III: Final Selection Board (FSB) – psychological tests, group tasks, and interview.
  • Stage IV: Medical Examination.
  • Stage V: Final induction and training.
  • Vacancies: The 2026 batch had 140 vacancies (110 General Duty, 30 Technical); similar numbers are expected for 2027, subject to official notification.
  • Application: Online application through the official portal (joinindiancoastguard.cdac.in) after the notification is released.
  • Pay Scale: ₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500 (Level 10 as per 7th CPC).
