The JEE Advanced 2025 exam date is on May 18, 2025. This exam is one of the most important entrance tests for engineering aspirants in India. It is organized by IIT Kanpur this year. Candidates who have qualified for JEE Main 2025 and registered for JEE Advanced will appear in this exam.
The JEE Advanced exam helps students get admission into top engineering colleges like the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Only the top 2.5 lakh candidates from JEE Main are eligible to appear in this exam.

JEE Advanced 2025 Exam Date and Time
The exam will be held in two shifts on Sunday, May 18, 2025. Candidates must appear in both Paper 1 and Paper 2, as it is mandatory.
- Paper 1: 09:00 AM to 12:00 Noon (IST)
- Paper 2: 02:30 PM to 05:30 PM (IST)
Each paper will be of 3 hours duration. There will be a break between the two papers.
Mode of Exam
The JEE Advanced 2025 exam will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. Students will have to answer the questions using a computer at the exam center.
Subjects Covered
The exam will include questions from three subjects:
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Mathematics
Both Paper 1 and Paper 2 will have questions from all three subjects.
Types of Questions
The JEE Advanced paper is known for its tricky and conceptual questions. It includes:
- Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
- Numerical Value Questions
- Matching-Type Questions
Some questions carry negative marking, while others may not. So, students are advised to read the instructions carefully before answering.

To qualify for JEE Advanced, candidates must score the minimum percentage set for their category:

JEE Advanced 2025 Exam Date: Instructions
Candidates must follow these instructions on the exam day:
- Reach the exam center at least 1 hour early
- Carry your JEE Advanced 2025 Admit Card
- Bring a valid photo ID proof (like Aadhaar card, PAN card, school ID, or passport)
- Only carry pen, pencil, and transparent water bottle.
- Do not carry mobile phones, calculators, smartwatches, or any printed materials

The JEE Advanced 2025 Admit Card will be available for download from May 11, 2025, on the official website https://jeeadv.ac.in. Make sure to download and print it on time.

- Roll number
