The Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) is a globally recognized certification exam for those learning the Japanese language. Conducted by The Japan Foundation, this exam is ideal for students, professionals, and language enthusiasts who want to test and certify their Japanese language skills. The Registration will start on August 04, 2025. The Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) happens twice a year in July & December at the New Delhi Center. The next JLPT exam will be on December 7, 2025, at various centers across India, including New Delhi.

What is JLPT?

The Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) is designed for candidates who have either already studied or are currently studying Japanese. The certification is offered through a standardized testing system monitored by the Japan Foundation. It happens twice a year – in July and December – and is one of the most trusted language certifications for Japanese learners worldwide.

The JLPT has 5 levels, ranging from basic to advanced:

Important Instructions

  • Exam Cancellation Policy: If the test is cancelled due to a natural disaster or pandemic, the fee will NOT be refunded, but will be adjusted for the next exam.
  • Hall Ticket: Exam timing & venue will be available on the admit card/hall ticket.
  • PWD Candidates:
    • Candidates with disabilities must apply under the STA Category by emailing mosai.jlpt@gmail.com on or before March 28, 2025.
    • No special assistance on exam day without prior STA registration.

How to Apply for JLPT December 2025?

  • Prepare Before Applying Online
    • Scanned ID Proof (Aadhar, Voter ID, Passport, PAN, or DL)
    • Format: JPG/JPEG | Size: 10–100 KB | Clear background
  • Scanned Passport-size Photograph
    • Format: JPG/JPEG | Size: 10–100 KB
    • Dimensions: 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm
    • No selfies allowed
  • Payment Method: Paytm, UPI, Credit/Debit Card, or Net Banking
  • Sign Up and Confirm Your Email – Register on the portal and verify your email using the confirmation link.
    • Fill the Application Form
    • Complete the form and pay the ₹1800 fee.
    • After payment, you will receive a Transaction Number. Applications without a transaction number will undergo rejection.
  • Save and Print
    • Take a printout of your filled application form.
    • Save it for your records.
    • You will also get a confirmation email.
