The KCET-2026 (Common Entrance Test) is conducted by KEA (Karnataka Examinations Authority)
The application form will open in January 2026 and continues for a month. The exam takes place in Mid April 2026. Important Instructions During KCET-2026 Application
Applicants must submit original documents to the Principal of the allotted college at the time of admission.
The following documents are mandatory:

- Reservation / Quota Certificates (if applicable)
Note – Failure to submit original documents may cancel admission.

Government Seat Eligibility: Core Conditions
For 100% government seats in Karnataka, candidates must meet one of six conditions. Each requires specific study periods and documents. Years with repeats count as one.
First Condition: 7-Year Study in Karnataka
Studied/passed in Karnataka government/recognized institutions for SEVEN academic years (1st std to 2nd PUC/12th) as on July 1 of CET year, plus passed SSLC/10th or 2nd PUC/12th in Karnataka.
Documents:
- SSLC/10th Marks Card.
- 2nd PUC/12th Marks Card.
- Study Certificate (7 years, including 10th/12th), countersigned by BEO/DDPU.
- Rural Quota (if claiming): 1st-10th Rural Study Certificate (countersigned by BEO) + NCLC from Tahsildar (enter RD number online).
- Kannada Medium Quota: 1st-10th Kannada Medium Study Certificate (countersigned by BEO).
- Reservation: Caste/Caste Income Certificate (Forms D/E/F) with RD number from Tahsildar. Income certificate for fee exemption (SC/ST/Cat-1).
Second Condition: PUC in Karnataka + Parent’s 7-Year Study
Passed 1st/2nd PUC or 11th/12th in Karnataka institution; either parent studied 7 years in Karnataka.

- 2nd PUC/12th Marks Card.
- Study Certificate for 1st/2nd PUC in Karnataka.
- Parent’s 7-year Study Certificate.
- Reservation certificates as above.
Third Condition: Mother Tongue Kannada/Tulu/Kodava/Beary + Outside Karnataka
Candidate/parent’s mother tongue is Kannada/Tulu/Kodava/Beary; parent domiciled in Karnataka; passed qualifying exam outside Karnataka; residing outside as on May 1, 2025. Must take KEA Kannada test.

- 12th Marks Card.
- Domicile Certificate (residing outside Karnataka as on 01-05-2025) from Revenue/Municipal authority.
- Karnataka Domicile Certificate for parent.
- Study/TC with mother tongue details.
- Candidate/Parent 10th Marks Card/Cumulative Record for mother tongue.
- Sworn declaration on mother tongue.
Fourth Condition: 7-Year Study in Disputed Kannada Areas
Mother tongue Kannada/Tulu/Kodava/Beary; resided/studied 7 years (1st-12th) in disputed areas (South Sholapur/Akkalkot/Jath/Gadhinglaj taluks Maharashtra; Kasargod/Hosadurga/Manjeshwar taluks Kerala). Must take KEA Kannada test.

- SSLC/10th Marks Card.
- 2nd PUC/12th Marks Card.
- Residential Certificate from disputed taluk Tahsildar.
- Study Certificate countersigned by Taluk Education Officer.
- 10th Marks Record for mother tongue.
- Sworn declaration.
Fifth Condition: Defence Personnel Child
Son/daughter of defence personnel working continuously in Karnataka for 1 year during candidate’s PUC/11th-12th; passed qualifying exam in Karnataka institution.
Sixth Condition: Special Categories
- Serving defence personnel claiming Karnataka hometown.
- Parents served 1 year in Karnataka, then shifted to J&K/North East.
- Ex-servicemen declaring Karnataka hometown (proof from Deputy Director, Sainik Welfare).
- Central employee child studying in Karnataka govt/aided school.
- Ex-servicemen with Karnataka hometown.
- MP from Karnataka’s child (QE anywhere in India).
- All India Service Karnataka cadre employee child.
- J&K migrants (Identity Card from District Magistrate).
- 10-year Kannada medium outside Karnataka (no test needed).
- CAPF personnel child with Karnataka hometown (extract from CAPF Record Office).
