Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) is a public state technical university in Rourkela, Odisha, India, established on 21 November 2002 and named after the former Chief Minister Biju Patnaik.

National Award Winner
Sri Ashutosh Pattanaik, a BPFTIO alumnus from the Cinematography branch (2014-2017 session), won the National Film Award for Best Art and Culture Film for his feature “Shrikshetra-Ru-Sahijata.” The award was presented at the 67th National Film Awards ceremony on October 25, 2021, in New Delhi.
Shibu Prusty, a BPFTIO alumnus from the Cinematography branch, received the National Film Award (Rajat Kamal) in the Art & Culture category as Best Director-cum-Producer in 2016 for his film “The Lord of the Universe.”
