SAMS Odisha CPET 2026 Admission Process

The application form will open in March 2026 for PG courses admission in the state of Odisha. The candidates will appear for entrance test known as CPET 2026 (Common PG Entrance Test for Postgraduate courses)

Though in 2024 it opened in May first week now from the year 2025 it is opening in the month of March. So we are also expecting the application form will open in March 2026

CPET 2026 details (notification, prospectus, exact dates) are not yet released. They are expected to follow a similar annual schedule, with online applications typically opening in March 2026. Check the official portal regularly for updates.

CPET 2026 Eligibility Criteria

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in the relevant subject/stream with minimum 45% marks (or CGPA 5.00). We will be updating about the eligibility according to the course and percentage required it hovers around 45 to 50 percent according to the course
• Candidates must have these required core/honours/elective papers (e.g., Economics for PG Economics; Chemistry for PG Chemistry).
• You must know that eligibility criteria for each course is different.
• Appearing candidates in their final-year UG students can apply provisionally (must submit qualifying marks later).

Step-by-Step Admission Process

1. Online Registration & Application (CAF)
   • Official website- pg.samsodisha.gov.in
   • Candidates will create their account and enter their Name, Mobile No., Email ID, and Date of Birth (OTP-based validation).
   • Login and fill the Common Application Form (CAF): personal details, academic info, subject preferences, etc.
   • Documents: Passport photo, signature, and scanned documents (marksheets, caste certificate, etc.).

Application Fee Structure

• First or only subject: ₹500 for General category candidates; ₹300 for SC/ST category candidates.
• Every additional entrance subject: ₹200 for both General and SC/ST category candidates

Admit Card

It will release online only and you will download from portal before the exam date

CPET Entrance Exam

• Subject-specific test (one paper per chosen PG subject).
• Mode: Usually OMR/computer-based.
• Test Cities- Odisha across multiple centers in Odisha (typically May).

Results & Merit List

• Subject-wise state-wide merit list (provisional rank) based on entrance marks.
• You can check on SAMS portal (resultspg.samsodisha.gov.in).
• Subject-wise & institution-wise cut-off marks also published.

Choice Filling / Preference Locking

• Log in and select preferences for PG subjects + universities/colleges (based on your rank and previous cut-offs).

Centralized Seat Allotment & Counselling

• Multiple rounds: Phase-I, Phase-II, Waiting List, Spot Admission.
• Allotment based on rank, choices, reservations, and seat availability.
• Download allotment/intimation letter.

Document Verification & Final Admission

• Candidates will report to the allotted college/university with originals.
• Will pay course fees (varies by institution; scholarships available).
• Complete admission formalities. Spot rounds for remaining seats.

Reservations

• As per Odisha govt norms: SC (16.25%), ST (22.5%), OBC/SEBC (27%), EWS (10%), PwD (5%), etc. (plus sports/NCC quotas in some cases).
