kVS NVS Skill Test and Interview

The result of tier I is out for the tier I result today 28 February and next exam date of Tier II exam has been released which will start from 27 to 31 March 2026. We have given the schedule after this notice of result. The admit card and exam city intimation slip will be available on candidates dashboard. No prior information will be sent to the candidates

KVS/NVS Tier-2 Exam Schedule (March 27-31, 2026)

Tier-2 exams for Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) posts are scheduled across multiple days in morning and afternoon shifts.

Daily Schedule March 2026

27th March 2026

• Morning: Primary Teacher, Administrative Officer, Assistant Commissioner, Stenographer-I
• Afternoon: Junior Secretariat Assistant, Vice Principal

28th March 2026

• Morning: Trained Graduate Teacher, Assistant Engineer (Civil), Finance Officer
• Afternoon: Post Graduate Teacher

29th March 2026

• Morning: Primary Teacher (Special Educator), Assistant Section Officer, Primary Teacher (Music), Principal
• Afternoon: Senior Secretariat Assistant

30th March 2026

• Morning: Lab Attendant
• Afternoon: Stenographer-II, Junior Translator

31st March 2026

• Morning: Multi Tasking Staff

What happens after the Tier I Result

Selection Process Overview (2025 Recruitment)

For most teaching and administrative posts, the selection consists of multiple stages:

Tier-1 & Tier-2 Examinations

• Tier-1: Preliminary screening test.
• Tier-2: Subject knowledge exam (objective + descriptive).
• Candidates are shortlisted from Tier-1 to Tier-2 based on performance.

Interview (For Certain Posts)

Posts where Interview is Conducted

Candidates who clear Tier-2 for the following posts are called for a personal interview:

• Assistant Commissioner
• Principal
• Vice-Principal
• Post Graduate Teacher (PGT)
• Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT / Librarian)
• Primary Teacher (PRT)
• Administrative Officer
• Finance Officer
• Assistant Engineer
• Junior Translator

 Interview Details

• Interview is typically held after Tier-2 exam (exact schedule to be notified).
• It carries 100 marks.

Weightage

• Tier-2 exam: 85%
• Interview: 15%
• Final merit list is based on weighted scores.

Skill Test (For Specific Non-Teaching Posts)

Posts with Skill Test

Skill tests are part of the selection for:

• Stenographer Grade I
• Stenographer Grade II
• Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA)

These skill tests typically include:

Skill Test Components

• Typing Test:
  • English: ~35 words per minute (w.p.m.)
  • Hindi: ~30 w.p.m.
    (Candidates must qualify typing speed to proceed.)
• Shorthand Test (for Stenographer posts):
  • Dictation + transcription at specified speeds.
• Computer Proficiency Test (for JSA):
  • 100 marks on MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Internet — minimum qualifying score ~40%.

Skill Test Purpose

• You must qualify the skill test to be eligible.
• The merit list for these posts is based on Tier-2 marks only (subject to qualifying the skill test) — no separate interview marks are added.
• Skill test Norms Dictation: 10 minutes @ 80 w.p.m Transcription: 50 minutes (English) / 65 minutes (Hindi) (On computer) iii. Knowledge of working on Computer iv. Proficiency in Hindi and English

Posts Without Interview or Skill Test

Some positions do not require any skill test or interview:

• Assistant Section Officer
• Senior Secretariat Assistant
• Lab Attendant
• Multi-Tasking Staff

For these, the final selection is based solely on Tier-2 marks.

Timing / Schedule

• Recruitment notification & application: Nov–Dec 2025.
• Tier-1 & Tier-2 Exams: Held early 2026.
• Skill tests/interviews: Dates will be notified on official portals (KVS/NVS/CBSE).
