Madhyamik Pariksha 2026 Schedule Announced by WBBSE – Complete Subject-Wise Dates

The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) has officially released the schedule for the Madhyamik Pariksha (Secondary Examination) 2026. The date sheet was announced through a notification (No. EMU/C/35) on May 6, 2025. The board exams for Class 10 students will begin from February 2, 2026, and will continue till February 12, 2026. So, keep reading to know the full Madhyamik Exam 2026 schedule.

The exams will be held in the morning session from 10:45 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Students will get the first 15 minutes only for reading the question paper, and writing will begin at 11:00 a.m.

What are First and Second Languages?

  • First Languages include:
    Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Modern Tibetan, Nepali, Odia, Gurumukhi (Punjabi), Telugu, Tamil, Urdu, and Santali.
  • Second Languages:
    • If a student has chosen any language other than English as their First Language, then English will be their Second Language.
    • If a student has English as First Language, then their Second Language will be Bengali or Nepali.

Important Notes for Practical and Special Subjects

Some subjects have different timings or special instructions:

  • Sewing and Needle Work – Exam duration will be 4 hours 15 minutes.
  • Music (Vocal & Instrumental) – Theory paper will be 2 hours 15 minutes. Practical exams will be held only in Kolkata, and the date and venue will be announced later.
  • Computer Application: Theory paper will be 2 hours 45 minutes. The practical exams will be conducted by the individual schools.
  • Vocational Subjects – Theory exam will be 1 hour 45 minutes. Practical exams will be conducted by the Sector Skill Council or the respective schools.

Important Instructions According To the Official Notification

  • Students must carefully read the question paper during the first 15 minutes and start writing only at 11:00 a.m..
  • Carry your admit card, pens, pencils, and other required stationery to the exam center.
  • Reach your exam center at least 30 minutes before the exam starts.
  • Follow all the rules and avoid any unfair means.
