NATA 2026 Score is not accepted: Check
NATA 2026 is widely accepted across all Institutes in India that offer B.Arch. Most of the institutes both government and private institutes accepts NATA 2026
NATA 2026 is the qualifying test for most architecture colleges in India (private, state, and many deemed universities).
But you must also know that few reputed institutes do not accept NATA 2026 for B.Arch. These institutes accepts other Test Entrance score. They admit students exclusively through JEE Main Paper 2 (via JoSAA counselling) or JEE Advanced + AAT. Having a NATA score will not help you here.
NATA Score Not Accepted in IITs
1. IITs Offering B.Arch (Only JEE Advanced + Architecture Aptitude Test – AAT)
These are the only institutes that use JEE Advanced route. NATA is completely irrelevant.

- Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee
- IIT (BHU) Varanasi (in some listings)
Process: Qualify JEE Advanced → Appear for AAT (qualifying test) → JoSAA counselling based on JEE Advanced rank.
NITs Offering B.Arch (Only JEE Main Paper 2 + JoSAA)
There are 9–10 NITs with B.Arch programmes. They strictly use JEE Main Paper 2 ranks. NATA scores are not considered.

- NIT Rourkela
- Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT) Jaipur
- Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT) Bhopal
- NIT Raipur
- NIT Hamirpur
- Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) Nagpur
3. Schools of Planning & Architecture (SPAs) (Only JEE Main Paper 2 + JoSAA/CSAB)
All three SPAs follow the JEE Main Paper 2 route. They explicitly do not accept NATA.

Important: These institutes participate in JoSAA 2026 counselling (after JEE Main Paper 2 results). Seat matrix and exact cutoffs will be released on josaa.nic.in in May–June 2026.
Other Notes
- No other major institutes strictly reject NATA in this way. Some private colleges offer management quota seats without any entrance exam, but that’s different.
- CoA (Council of Architecture) recognises all these programmes, but admission routes are separate by design.
- For 2026: Eligibility remains 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry & Maths + minimum marks (usually 50%, or 75% for NITs/SPAs in some categories).
