Number of Slots for Fellowship 750
- Objective:Â To provide financial support to meritorious ST students for pursuing M.Phil and Ph.D (fellowship) or graduation/post-graduation in top professional institutes (scholarship).
- Eligibility:Â Applicant must belong to the ST category and have completed a Master’s degree for fellowship (M.Phil/Ph.D). For scholarships, admission to selected government/private institutes in courses like management, medicine, law, engineering, etc. is required.
- Fellowship Number:Â 750 fresh fellowships are awarded each year.
- Fellowship Amount:
- M.Phil: ₹31,000/month, annual contingency ₹10,000.
- Ph.D: ₹31,000/month for first 2 years, ₹35,000/month for next 3 years, annual contingency up to ₹25,000.
- HRA given as per UGC norms. Divyang scholars get a monthly escort allowance.
- Scholarship Amount:
- Tuition and admission fees: Up to ₹2,50,000/year for private institute students, full fees for government institute students.
- Books & stationery: ₹5,000/year.
- Stipend: ₹3,000/month.
- Computer & accessories: ₹45,000 (one-time).
- Application Process:Â Entirely online via National Scholarship Portal (https://scholarships.gov.in) or the dedicated fellowship portal (https://fellowship.tribal.gov.in).[1]
- Additional Criteria: Family income for scholarship must not exceed ₹6,00,000 per annum.
- Coverage:Â All UGC/ICAR approved universities and research institutes for fellowships; select institutes for scholarships.
