NIACL AO Mains (Phase-II) Expected 2025 Cutoff Trend

  • The Generalist (UR) cutoff is to be in range between 98–107 marks, depending on paper difficulty.
  • OBC & EWS categories may fall between 90–98 marks.
  • Reserved categories (SC/ST) are likely between 75–88 marks, similar to the previous cycle.

State-wise Allocation

While NIACL AO vacancies are not state-wise (since it’s an all-India cadre post), regional preferences apply only during posting. Thus, cut-offs releases category-wise and discipline-wise, not state-wise.

The official NIACL AO Phase-II 2025 cutoffs will be out in November 2025 at www.newindia.co.in after the Mains result publication.

The minimum qualifying marks for the NIACL AO Phase II (Mains) 2025 Objective Paper New India Assurance Company Limited (NIACL) fixes on a section-wise and category-wise basis. Candidates must secure these marks in each section for their Descriptive Paper for evaluation.

Section-wise Minimum Qualifying Marks (Objective Test – 200 marks)

SectionSC/ST/OBC/PwBDEWS/UR
Reasoning Ability (50)11.5014.50
English Language (50)19.0022.00
General Awareness (50)3.005.25
Quantitative Aptitude (50)14.7517.00

(It is necessary for the candidates to score equal to or above each of these thresholds to qualify for descriptive evaluation and interview shortlisting.).

Key Rules

  • These minimum scores apply only to the Objective Paper; candidates must separately qualify in the Descriptive Test (30 marks) with 15 marks for UR/EWS/OBC and 13.5 marks for SC/ST/PwBD.
  • Marks scored in the Descriptive Paper are qualifying in nature only and do not contribute to the final merit.
  • The final merit is out by combining the Objective Paper and Interview marks in a 75:25 ratio.

Therefore, to pass the Phase II (Mains) Objective Test, candidates must meet the sectional minimums mentioned above according to their category.

For the NIACL AO Phase II (Mains) 2025, the Descriptive Test is an essential qualifying stage conducted immediately after the objective paper. It evaluates a candidate’s proficiency in written English communication through Essay Writing and Letter Writing.

Structure of the Descriptive Test

ComponentMarksWord LimitDuration
Essay Writing20250–300 words30 minutes (total)
Letter Writing10150–200 words
Total Marks: 30Duration: 30 minutesMode: Online

Minimum Qualifying Marks (Category-wise)

CategoryQualifying Marks (out of 30)
SC / ST / PwBD13.5
OBC / EWS / UR15.0
(Candidates must secure these marks to qualify for the interview process.)

Evaluation Criteria

The Descriptive Paper assess the candidates on multiple qualitative parameters emphasizing language skill and expression:

  1. Content & Relevance – How effectively the answer addresses the given topic or situation.
  2. Grammar & Vocabulary – Appropriate sentence construction, grammar accuracy, and word variety.
  3. Structure & Clarity – Logical flow of ideas and organization in essay and letter writing.
  4. Adherence to Word Limit – Staying within the stipulated range for clarity and focus.

Important Evaluation Guidelines

  • The Descriptive Test is qualifying in nature; NIACL does not add scores to the final merit list but candidates must pass it to proceed to the interview.
  • Answers are typed on-screen and evaluated electronically for grammatical precision and flow.
  • Failure to meet the qualifying marks results in disqualification, even if the objective test cut-off is cleared.

Hence, candidates need at least 15 marks (UR/EWS/OBC) or 13.5 marks (SC/ST/PwBD) in the Descriptive Paper and must demonstrate clarity, relevance, and grammatical strength to clear the Phase-II exam.
