NIMCET 2026 Counselling
NICET 2026 counselling will start after the NIMCET 2026 result is out. The NIT Tricharpalli has set June 29 result declaration date. After declaring the result the counselling process for seats allotment will start https://nimcet.admissions.nic.in/ (coordinated by NIT Tiruchirappalli).
Only candidates who qualify in NIMCET 2026 (exam on 6 June 2026) can participate. There are three regular (general) rounds + one Special Round for vacant seats.

The counselling process will start with the registration. It will start on 30 June right after declaration of result. The result date is 29 June and Counselling will start on 30 June

Key Features
- Registration & Choice Filling (one-time for general rounds): 30 June 2026 (10 AM) to 3 July 2026 (5 PM) → Pay non-refundable ₹1,000 counselling fee.
- Choices are locked automatically after 3 July 2026 (5 PM). No fresh registration/choice filling allowed in the three general rounds.
- Seat allotment is based on NIMCET rank + choices filled + seat availability.
- After each round, candidates can choose Float (for upgradation), Freeze (accept seat), or Withdraw.
- Reporting involves paying partial admission fee and online document verification.

- Round 1 Allotment starts: 6 July 2026 (6 PM)
- Round 1 Reporting + Seat Acceptance Fee: 7–10 July 2026
- Round 2 Allotment / Upgradation: 11 July 2026 (6 PM)
- Round 2 Reporting (fresh allottees only): 13–15 July 2026
- Round 3 Allotment / Upgradation: 16 July 2026 (6 PM)
- Round 3 Reporting + Partial Admission Fee: 17–20 July 2026
- Announcement of Vacant Seats: 21 July 2026 (6 PM)
- Special Round – Fresh Choice Filling & Registration (for vacant + likely-vacant seats): 22–24 July 2026 (10 AM to 5 PM)
- Special Round Seat Allotment: 25 July 2026 (6 PM)
- Final Offline Reporting at Allotted Institute: After 27 July 2026 (as per institute schedule)
What is the Special Round?
- This is conducted after the seats are still vacant after the three rounds of counselling.
- NIT will allow fresh registration and choice filling
- You will be able to see the remaining seats across all NITs and IIITs.
- After final round allotment candidates have to report offline(Physically_ at the designated NITs or IIITs
Important Notes
- The three general rounds allow upgradation, but the Special Round is the last chance.
- Final admission is confirmed only after physical reporting + document verification + payment of remaining fees at the allotted NIT/IIIT.
