TANCET 2026

• Application start: Fourth week of January 2026

The exam will be offline (pen and paper) and the application process will be fully online via the official website tancet.annauniv.edu. The application fee is Rs. 1000 for most candidates and Rs. 500 for reserved category candidates from Tamil Nadu.

• Minimum aggregate marks required: 50% for general category; 45% for reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC).
• Candidates appearing for final-year degree exams can also apply, but they must fulfill the eligibility criteria at the time of admission.
• Any of the following educational patterns are accepted:
  • 10+2+3/4/5 years graduation
  • 10+2+BE/BTech/BPharm/BArch
  • 10+3 years diploma + 3 years graduation
  • 10+2+AMIE or 10+3 years diploma + AMIE

For MCA admission through TANCET 2026:

• Candidates must have a recognized bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years with Mathematics as a compulsory subject at 10+2 level or at the graduate level.
• Degrees like BCA, BSc (IT/Computer Science) are accepted.
• Minimum aggregate marks: 50% for general category; 45% for reserved categories.

General points:

• Candidates without the above qualifications are not eligible.
• Age limits may apply as per institute norms.
• The eligibility criteria must be met to appear for the exam and proceed in the admission and counselling process.

Application Form Process:

1. Visit the official TANCET website: tancet.annauniv.edu.
2. Register by providing basic details such as name, email ID, mobile number, and date of birth. This is a one-time registration.
3. Login with the received credentials to access the application form.
4. Fill in the application form with personal details, educational qualifications, and preferred exam center.
5. Upload the required documents:
   • Recent passport-size color photograph (visible face, file size under 50 KB, .jpg or .jpeg format)
   • Scanned signature (file size under 11 KB, .jpg or .jpeg format)
6. Review all details carefully before final submission as no correction window is provided after submission.
7. Pay the application fee online using net banking, credit card, or debit card.
8. Submit the form and download the confirmation page for future reference.

A good rank for admission to a good college through TANCET 2026 depends on the course and college:

• For MBA, a rank under 2,000 to 3,000 generally ensures admission in reputed government colleges such as Anna University and other top-ranked institutes in Tamil Nadu.
• For MCA, ranks under 3,000 to 4,000 are usually considered good for admission in reputed colleges.

Higher ranks may still get admission in many private or less competitive colleges.

In summary:

• Aim for rank below 3,000 for very good colleges.
• Ranks between 3,000 to 10,000 provide decent options in good private or state colleges.
• Beyond 10,000, options may be limited to lower-tier colleges
