- A sequence of General Rank (GMR) will be on the basis of the total score in Paper I and Paper II put together.
- Ranking will be in descending order of total marks in all the subjects.
- A separate reserved category merit position will be present for the respective category of students, e.g., SC Rank, ST Rank, OBC A Rank, OBC B Rank, PWD Rank, TFW Rank
- Admission to all Engineering/Technology/Architecture courses and to the pharmacy courses in Jadavpur University will be on the basis of GMR

- This Pharmacy merit rank will be prepared on the score in Paper-II only, i.e., Physics and Chemistry.
- Ranking will be done in descending order of marks scored in Paper-II
- A separate reserved category merit position will also be indicated for the respective category of students e.g., SC Rank, ST Rank, OBC A Rank, OBC B Rank, PWD Rank, TFW Rank
- Category ranks are generated based on the category information given by the candidates during online application, but documents will be verified by the allotted institutes during counselling.
