Difference TG LAWCET & TG PGLCET 2025

Students who want to study law in Telangana have two main entrance exams — TG LAWCET and TG PGLCET. These exams are conducted by Osmania University, Hyderabad, on behalf of the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE). Both exams will be held on June 06, 2025, but they are for different levels of legal education.

TG LAWCET Exam 2025

TG LAWCET stands for Telangana Law Common Entrance Test. It is for students who want to join LL.B. (Bachelor of Laws) courses in Telangana.

There are two types of LL.B. courses:

Difference TG LAWCET & TG PGLCET 2025

a) LL.B. 3-Year Degree Course (3-YDC)

This is a 3-year law course. You can apply for this course after completing any bachelor’s degree like B.A., B.Com., B.Sc., etc.

b) LL.B. 5-Year Degree Course (5-YDC)

This is a 5-year integrated law course. You can apply for this course after passing the 12th standard (Intermediate). The course combines graduation and law (e.g., B.A. LL.B., B.Com. LL.B.).

TG PGLCET Exam 2025

TG PGLCET stands for Telangana Post Graduate Law Common Entrance Test. This exam is for students who have already completed LL.B. and now want to go for LL.M. (Master of Laws), which is a postgraduate degree.

Common Points

  • Both exams are conducted online (Computer-Based Test).
  • Each exam is of 90 minutes duration.
  • The question paper has multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
  • There is no negative marking in either exam.

Who Should Apply?

  • If you just passed 12th and want to start a career in law, apply for LAWCET 5-Year.
  • If you have completed graduation in any subject, apply for LAWCET 3-Year.
  • If you already hold a law degree (LL.B.), and want to do LL.M., apply for PGLCET.
