AFCAT 2 2025 Registration: AFCAT 2 refers to the second cycle of the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) conducted annually by the Indian Air Force (IAF) for the recruitment of officers in the Flying Branch and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) branches.

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification Age Criteria 
There are 2 hours AFCAT and 45 minutes for the EKT. There shall be 3 marks for every Correct answer.  There shall be 1 mark deducted for each wrong answer. 20 to 26 years (different as per post)
Selection Process Application Fee
Written Exam  AFSB Interview. Rs. 550/- Plus GST (Non-Refundable).

Nationality 

  • Nationality. Candidate must be a citizen of India per the Indian Citizenship Act, 1955.

AFCAT 2 2025: Age Criteria 

  • Flying Branch through AFCAT and NCC Special Entry – A candidate should be 20 to 24 years old).
  • Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) Branch – A candidate should be 20 to 26 years
  • Marital Status – A Candidate must be unmarried at the time of commencement of the course and marriage is not permitted during training. A candidate who marries during the period of training shall be discharged and will be liable to refund all expenditures incurred on him by the Government.

Types of Commissions Offered via AFCAT 2 2025

  • For male candidates only.
  • Officers serve till the age of superannuation based on their rank.

Short Service Commission (SSC)

  • Open to both men and women.
  • Flying Branch: 14 years from the date of commissioning (non-extendable).
  • Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical): Initial tenure of 10 years, extendable up to 4 years based on merit and service needs.
  • English. Comprehension, Detecting Errors in Sentences, Sentence Completion/ Filling in of correct words, Synonym/ Antonym, Cloze Test or Fill in the Gaps in a paragraph, Idioms and Phrases, Analogy, Sentence Rearranging, Substitution in a Sentence/ One Word Substitution.
  • General Awareness. History, Geography, Sports, National and International Organizations, Art and culture, Personalities, Environment and ecology, Indian Polity, Economy, Basic Science Knowledge, Science and Technology, Current Affairs (National and international), Defence
  • Numerical Ability. Decimal Fraction, Time and Work, Average/ Percentage, Profit and loss, Ratio and proportion, Simple and Compound Interest, Time and distance and Races (Trains/ Boats and streams), Area and Perimeter, Probability, Number System and Number Series, Mixture & Allegation Rules, Clocks.
  • Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test. Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning
  • The standard of Numerical Ability Questions will be of Matriculation level. The standard of questions in other subjects will be of graduation level (Indian University). · Exam will be in English only.
  • English – Cloze test, fill in the blanks, spotting the errors, one-word substitution, synonyms and antonyms
  • These are the recurring topics, try to practice them as much as you can.
  • Use an elimination method to solve this question.
  • For Mathematics – Ratio, Percentage, Simple Interest, Compound Interest, Profit & Loss. These are the recurring topics in mathematics.
  • Some questions are very easy and can be solved by using the digit sum method.
  • Try to get a good command of these topics.
  • Reasoning and Military Aptitude – Series Completion, embedded figure, blood relation, mirror and water images, completion of pattern, venn diagram, analogy & classification.
  • This section consists of 35 questions; hence this is the most scoring section.
  • Try to practice more and more on given topics by solving pics.
  • GS- Awards, books and authors, sports news, basic knowledge of science.
  • The questions that are asked in exams are static.
