CLAT 2026 Notification Released, Exam on 7 December 2025

CLAT 2026 Notification released, Exam 7 December- CLAT 2026 notification is out today on 27 July. The application form will open on 1 August 2025. The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT 2026) will be held on December 7, 2025 (Sunday), from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, in offline (pen and paper) mode for admission to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programs at National Law Universities (NLUs) across India .

Key Details Regarding the CLAT 2026 Notification

Application Dates:
- Registration opens: August 1, 2025
- Registration closes: October 31, 2025
Eligibility (UG):
- Passed Class 12 (or equivalent) with a minimum of 45% (General/OBC/PwD/NRI/PIO/OCI); 40% for SC/ST.
- No upper age limit.
Exam Structure:
- 120 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) in 2 hours.
- Five sections: English Language, Current Affairs & GK, Logical Reasoning, Legal Reasoning, Quantitative Techniques .
- 1 mark per correct answer, 0.25 negative marking per wrong answer .
Application Fee:
- Details will be provided in the official notification (traditionally ₹4,000 for General/OBC/PwD, ₹3,500 for SC/ST).
Participating Institutes:
- 24 NLUs and several private law colleges.
Selection:
- Based on CLAT score followed by centralized counseling for seat allotment.
Admit Card:
- Expected release: Mid-November 2025 .
Conflict Note:
- The exam date may clash with AILET 2026, so law aspirants must plan accordingly
