Anna University has a collaborative partnership with the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS) in Japan, offering students the opportunity to participate in NIMS’s Internship Program. This program is designed to provide undergraduate and graduate students with practical experience in materials science. Students must identify a researcher who match their research field on the NIMS Researcher Search Site “SAMURAI.

The internship is open around the year and this is the first batch.
Interested students of Anna University, Chennai (CEG, ACT, SAP and MIT campuses) can apply for this Internship programme.
Students must have these
- Student Application form for NIMS Internship Program (English)
- CV (English)
- Student enrolment/registration certificate (English, a scanned copy is acceptable.)* Within the last 3 months
* A diploma or certificate of Master’s degree is not considered as a student enrolment/registration certificate. - Official academic transcript (English, a scanned copy is acceptable.)
* Only an officially issued academic transcript is acceptable.
* Doctoral and master’s students are required to submit both undergraduate and graduate transcripts.

Eligibility: Current undergraduate and postgraduate students enrolled at Anna University.
- Duration: Up to 90 consecutive calendar days.
- Financial Support:
- Daily allowance.
- Accommodation in NIMS-designated facilities.
- Note: Travel expenses are not covered by NIMS.
Application Process:
- Identify a Host Researcher: Students should search for researchers at NIMS whose research aligns with their interests using the NIMS Researcher Search Site “SAMURAI.”
- Contact the Researcher: Reach out directly to the chosen NIMS researcher via email, providing the following documents:
- NIMS Internship Application Form.
- Curriculum Vitae (CV).
- Certificate of Enrolment (issued within the last 3 months).
- Academic Transcript (for graduate students, include undergraduate transcripts).
- Submission: After receiving confirmation from the NIMS researcher, students should forward their detailed application and Bio-Data through the Head of their Department to the Director, Centre for International Relations at Anna University. The internal deadline for submission is January 27, 2025.
