BSc Optometry course in India is a 3-year undergraduate course that focuses on the study of the human eye and its related diseases. The rest two semesters are training at the eye hospitals for hands-on training. As per MOHFW, the student must complete the course to be designated as an Optometrist. Those who leave the course mid-way or less than 4 years will be considered ophthalmic assistants, not optometrists.
