IGNOU Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.)The B.Ed. program offered by Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is designed to develop an understanding of teaching and learning. The IGNOU B.Ed. program has a well-structured curriculum that covers both theoretical and practical aspects of teaching and learning. IGNOU B.Ed Programme Overview
You should have a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree with at least 50 per cent marks in Sciences/Social Sciences/Commerce/Humanity. Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto,
The following categories are eligible to be students of B.Ed. (ODL):
(i) Trained in-service teachers in elementary education.
(ii) Candidates who have completed an NCTE-recognized teacher education programme through face-to-face mode.
The reservation and relaxation of 5% marks in minimum eligibility will be provided to SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy layer)/PWD candidates as per the rules of the Central Government.
Reservation to Kashmiri Migrants and war widow candidates will be provided as per the University Rules.
The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course at IGNOU is designed to expose student teachers to the teaching and learning process in secondary and higher secondary schools. The program focuses on providing teachers with opportunities to think critically about educational perspectives and to comprehensively integrate theory and practice to promote active participation of learners in the creation of knowledge.
The B.Ed. programme focuses on:
Understand the educational context of today’s Indian society. – Recognize the role of learners’ backgrounds and sociopolitical realities in promoting learning in inclusive environments. – Raise awareness of language diversity in the classroom and its role in the teaching and learning process. – Deepen understanding of paradigm shifts in the conceptualization of subject knowledge in school curricula, – Identify, challenge and overcome gender inequalities in schools, classrooms, curricula, textbooks, social institutions, etc., – Empower student teachers to take charge of organizing the skills required to acquire learning experiences The theme of Ignou is to connect teachers and students to themselves, children, community and school, creating strong connections between different curriculum areas. – The motivation of the program is to enable student teachers to integrate and apply ICT to facilitate the teaching and learning process and school management.-
Systematizing experiences and strengthening the professional competencies of student teachers, and

IGNOU B.Ed ENTRANCE TEST
The Entrance Test will be held on the date mentioned in the advertisement. Hall tickets will be uploaded on the IGNOU website; www.ignou.ac.in to appear in the Entrance Test.
Mere allowing candidates to take the Entrance Test would not amount to acceptance of their eligibility for admission to B.Ed.
The final admission to the programme shall be subject to their rank in the merit list in the Entrance Test and production of proof of their eligibility at the time of the last date of submission of application for admission to B.Ed. programme along with original certificates and programme fees.
The number of seats of each PSC is limited to 50 only. The university reserves the right to conduct the examination at different centres/change the examination centre of the candidates without assigning any reason thereof.

Click on the button Register Yourself” that appears in the applicant login area and fill in the required registration details.
The username should be between 8 to 16 characters.
The password you create must be alphanumeric means (words and numbers) between 8 to 16 characters.
After filling in the mandatory information, click the “SUBMIT” button.
The username will be instantly sent to you via e-mail.
Remember your Username and Password for subsequent login.
Candidate who has already registered click the “Log in” button.
Before proceeding to fill the form online, the applicant must have the following:
- Scanned Photograph (less than 100 KB)
- Scanned Signature (less than 50 KB)
Application Fee can be paid through:

- Once you have uploaded your photograph and signature, click the next button. You will get the Form preview option. Save/Print your form for future reference
Candidates are advised not to pay the programme fee along with the filled-in application form. They will get a separate communication about their admission and payment of fees.
The programme fee should be paid only by way of a Demand Draft drawn in favour of IGNOU payable at the city where your Regional Centre is situated. Please write in capital letters your name and the programme to which admission is sought, i.e., B.Ed., on the back of the Demand Draft to ensure proper credit of your fee to the relevant account.
