What is BHA?

JENPAS UG 2026 BHA course details

  • Bachelor in Hospital Administration (BHA) is a 3-year undergraduate degree program.
  • It focuses on hospital management, healthcare administration, hospital operations, medical law, health insurance, healthcare HR, quality management, etc.
  • It is a good choice for students interested in the healthcare field but who do not want to become doctors, nurses, or paramedics — instead, they want to work in the administrative and management side of hospitals and healthcare organisations.

JENPAS UG Exam Pattern for BHA

The JENPAS UG has two papers:

  • Paper-I (common for most courses like B.Sc Nursing, BPT, BMLT, OTT, PA, etc.) Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Basic English, Logical Reasoning Format: 100 MCQs | 90 minutes
  • Paper-II (specifically required for BHA and a few other management-related courses) Subjects:
    • Physical Science (Physics + Chemistry) — Class 10 level
    • Mathematics — Class 10 level
    • General Knowledge
    • Basic English
    • Logical Reasoning Format: 100 MCQs | 90 minutes

Important note for BHA: Most candidates only need to appear for Paper-II for BHA admission. (Some years both papers are considered — always check the latest official information bulletin.)

JENPAS UG 2026 BHA eligibility

  • Educational Qualification: 10+2 (or appearing in 2026)
    • General / EWS category: Minimum 45% aggregate (including English)
    • SC / ST / OBC / PwD: Minimum 40% aggregate
  • English: Usually at least 40% marks required in English subject (check latest rules)
  • Age Limit:
    • Minimum: 17 years as on 31 December 2026
    • Maximum: Up to 40 years (BHA generally has a higher age relaxation compared to nursing/paramedical courses)
  • Both boys and girls are eligible.

Tentative Schedule for JENPAS UG 2026

  • Last date to apply: Usually 2–3 weeks after start
  • Exam Date: May – July 2026 (sometimes delayed to later months)

Preparation Tips for BHA (Paper-II)

  • Mathematics & Physical Science: Study Class 10 level thoroughly (West Bengal Board / NCERT level is enough)
  • General Knowledge: Focus on current affairs (last 6–12 months), basic health & hospital system knowledge, Indian polity, economy, important days, awards, sports, etc.
  • English & Logical Reasoning: Practice daily — grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, puzzles, series, coding-decoding, blood relations, etc.
  • Solve previous year JENPAS UG Paper-II questions
  • Take regular mock tests for time management
