JKSET 2024– The Jammu & Kashmir State Eligibility Test (JK SET)/LASET 2024, conducted by the University of Jammu, is an essential exam for determining the eligibility of candidates for Assistant professorships within the state. Here are some key details about the exam:
JKSET 2024 Important Dates
- Notification Release: June 5, 2024
- Start of Online Applications: June 11, 2024
- Closing Date for Applications (without late fee): July 5, 2024
- Exam Date-20 October 2024.

JKSET 2024 Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must have a Master’s degree or equivalent with at least 55% marks (50% for reserved categories).
- Those who have appeared or will be appearing for the qualifying Master’s degree final year examination can also apply.
- NET/SLET/SET remains the minimum eligibility condition for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professors in Universities/Colleges/Institutions
Exam Pattern
- The exam will consist of two papers, conducted on the same day in two sessions:
- Paper I: General paper on teaching and research aptitude (50 questions, 100 marks, 1 hour).
- Paper II: Subject-specific paper (100 questions, 200 marks, 2 hours).
- Both papers will have objective-type questions with multiple choice, matching, assertion-reasoning, and true/false formats. There is no negative marking
JKSET 2024 Application Fee
- General Category: Rs.1200
- Reserved Categories (RBA, ALC, WUP, etc.): Rs.900
- SC/ST/Transgender/PwD: Rs.700
- With late fee Rs.1800 for UR category
- With Late Fee of Rs.1500 RBA/ALC-IB/OBC/ EWS
- With Late Fee of Rs. 1300 SC/ST (i & ii)/Transgender/ PwD with 40% disability
Subjects
- The exam covers 37 subjects including Mathematical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Physical Sciences, Computer Science & Application, Commerce, Economics, English, and more
Admit Card and Exam Centers
- Admit cards will be available online 2-3 weeks before the exam date. They must be downloaded from the official website and printed.
- Exam centers are located in Srinagar and Jammu.
- Candidates must carry the admit card along with a valid ID proof to the exam center
Results and Answer Key
- The answer key will be released shortly after the exam, allowing candidates to estimate their scores and raise objections if necessary.
- The final results and e-certificates will be published online on the official website.
Exemption from Appearing in the JKSET
The candidates who have passed the UGC/CSIR examination for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) prior to December 1989. b) The candidates who have qualified the National Eligibility Test for Lectureship / Assistant Professor (UGC-NET) conducted under the aegis of UGC or qualified the Joint CSIR-UGC Test.

Kashmir Centre: – Centre Code 02 Sub-Center Cities – Srinagar; Anantnag; Baramulla
Leh Centre: – Centre Code 03 Leh and Kargil
In case of less than 250 candidates in any sub-center, it will be merged with the nearest sub-center
