Ans-1: UP/ABVMU CPET stands for Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University Common Paramedical Entrance Test. It’s an online exam for admission to paramedical courses like B.Sc Nursing, BPT, and others in UP government medical colleges. Applications usually open in March-April.

UP/ABVMU CPET Eligibility 2026: FAQs
Ans-20: The candidate must be at least 17 years old on or before 31 December 2025.
Ans-21: For B.Sc. Paramedical courses at SGPGIMS, Lucknow, the maximum age is 30 years (as on 31 December 2026). There is no maximum age limit for other institutes.
Ans-22: The candidate must have at least 45% marks in 12th grade in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) and must have individually passed in English.
Ans-23: For reserved category (SC/ST/OBC) candidates, a minimum of 40% marks in PCB/PCM is required.
Ans-24: Students with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) are eligible only for:
• Bachelor of Optometry
• Bachelor in Audiology and Speech Language Pathology
Ans-25: These candidates are only eligible for Bachelor in Audiology and Speech Language Pathology (minimum 45% marks required).
Ans-26: Yes, if they pass 12th with Science subjects and English, and the board is recognized, they are eligible.
Ans-27: Yes, it is mandatory to pass English as an individual subject in 12th standard.
Ans-28: The minimum percentage will calculate based on the aggregate marks of only the 3 core subjects (PCB/PCM/relevant science subjects).
UP/ABVMU CPET 2026 Reservation Rules: FAQs
Ans-29: The Reservation will be provided within the sanctioned seats as per the latest reservation policy of the Uttar Pradesh State Government.
Ans-30: Yes, if the Uttar Pradesh Government makes any changes in the reservation rules, the updated policy will be followed.
Ans-31: There are 5% horizontal reservation will be provided for PwD candidates as per the Gazette of India (05 July 2021).
Ans-32: Only those candidates who have 40%–50% loco-motor disability (lower limb) and meet the qualification criteria of the UR category will be eligible.
Ans-33: Yes, after admission, the Government Medical College/Institution’s medical board will verify the disability.
UP/ABVMU CPET 2026 Certificate Validation: FAQs
Ans-34: The valid EWS certificate should be issued after 1 April 2025 and must be presented at the time of counselling.
Ans-35: The valid OBC certificate should be issued after 1 April 2026 to be acceptable.
Ans-36: The caste certificate should be issued only by the Tehsildar/SDM of the UP Government and must be verifiable via the online government portal.
Ans-37: For admission to government colleges, the candidate must have a UP domicile certificate or must have passed both 10th and 12th from UP.
Ans-38: A Dependent of Freedom Fighter certificate must be issued by the District Magistrate to be valid.
Ans-39: A valid Ex-Servicemen certificate must be issued by the competent authority.
Ans-40: Only NCC ‘C’ Certificate with Grade B is acceptable for reservation benefit. NCC ‘A’ and ‘B’ certificates will not be valid.
